About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel the world and make as many friends as possible. I have made friends in Sweden, Spain, Italy, Germany, and the UK. I would love to host someone and then visit them in their country or vice-versa..

ABOUT ME

I travel every chance I get!

Please forgive any lack of photos - I am not computer savvy and am having difficulty uploading/downloading pics. My profile lists Yonkers, NY as my location but I'm actually northeast of it - to be exact.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short and the world is vast - so what are you waiting for?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel with people and have visited much of my own country (USA) and have had the opportunity to show it to some of my European friends. Anyone who would like a tour guide/friend to show them around the USA need only ask. I have often traveled away from my home (NY) to meet friends in other places (San Francisco is my favorite) and show them that city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Malta I met two couchsurfing friends - stayed with one and hung out for a day with another. Couchsurfing is a great site, and everyone I have been in contact with seems to share my deep passion to see the world.

Interests

I seek out the local cuisine and local culture. I enjoy seeing the historic sites and the important sites like museums and churches. But, my real favorite is to wander the streets of foreign cities.

Music, Movies, and Books

Novels and films that convey a real sense of place are always good: Steinbeck's "The Travels with Charley" was the first novel I read as a kid and it has stayed with me. There are too many films to mention. Recently I saw "Inglorious Bastards" and loved it. "Anatomy of a Murder" is a classic b/w court-room drama that has long been among my favorites. A good comedy is always great - who doesn't enjoy a good laugh?!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: the best thing I do, daily, is teach my students.

Seen: The Galapagos Islands, The Grand Canyon and the Perito Moreno Glacier

Teach, Learn, Share

I have good advice to share with other travelers and have learned much from my collective experiences.
