About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish my studies, pack my things and hit the road, playing music everywhere in the world, and learn new cultures, new life philosophies.

ABOUT ME

I'm from a very mixed family. Have Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian, African, Indian, Lebanese and Chinese ancestry, being myself the mixture of all this ethnical and national groups. I'm very talkative, and emotive person, sometimes more emotive than a regular latin. I like to read, especially about History, and to play music - I do play guitar and mandolin. I'm very much intrested in brazilian popular music (such as Choro, Samba, Frevo and all sort of folk music), and also Irish Traditional Music - I play in an Irish Music band. Also like Rock and Roll music.
I'm very positive, like to listen to people, because I think everybody can teach me a lot of stuff. But also like to talk a lot (laugh). I would like to consider myself an Anarquist, but I am too lazy for that, and not contribute for a better world like I should. Can speak english, portuguese, spanish and learning brazilian sign language (for deaf people). When my couch is available, I will be very glad to host people in my house, and take them everywhere to meet my country, and hope to be treated like that when traveling. I love to travel, love a lot, and like to go camping in the wild too.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an open-minded person. I feel joy in talking to people who have a different philosophy than my own, and I'm in a personal journey for knowledge of other cultures. I'm not a religious man but I have faith in God and other things that I have researched in all religions of the world that I think that is good for me. Respect all the religions, but not all the political positions. I hate capitalism, and hate capitalism supporters. If someday I host a conservative or from the right, I'll not treat this person differently, but we better not talk about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participated showing the city around and even hosting some couchsurfers I have met outside couchsurfing, by couchsurfing friends (that's how I came to CS Project), and recomending for other people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friend and band colleague Daniel have hosted some couchsurfers during this carnival (2010. I was hosted in his house in the same period, so we went out together, and have met many foreigners and brazilian couchsurfers, even offering my own couch to some of them after I met them. I even took two couchsurfing friends to an Indian tribe near my house, and we slept in their village, in traditional hay houses, in hammocks. We have founded HammockSurfing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled and camped in many places, have seen many kinds of wild animals and plants. Have seen many small miracles, wonders of nature, places so beautiful that cannot be described. Sunsets, landscapes and people connected with that shall not be forgotten.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I do have something to teach to other people, is to be humble and listen to people. Just listen, and make an effort to understand and, most important, to respect the other. You become a better person when you let go of your personal pride, consider that not always you are right, and don't be bothered if someone thinks that know more than you. Another good advice is: there are many times when the best thing to say is to say nothing - a hug, a kiss, a look, physical contact or maybe a prayer can make miracles.
