ABOUT ME

I travel. That is about what runs everything else.
I am moving to Japan from Washington DC for the next 2 years to work on a few projects. Right now I am working on finishing a project in China about poverty, check it out - http://claryestes.com/
Up next is a project on hospitals in China and hopefully something in Japan too :)
While in DC I covered stories related to education in poor communities in the southeast of the district of Columbia. I also did projects on graffiti artists in Baltimore MD, international artists that were showing work in DC and craftsmen in Kentucky.
I have worked on water quality issues in Appalachia, Specifically Southeastern Kentucky. I have had to deal with a diesel spill in the cities water supply.
BUT! I am a photographer and I hope that I can spend the rest of my life doing that. I attended the Corcoran College of Art and Design as part of their New Media Photojournalism program. I also hope to travel across the world for the rest of my life! I like to think that I am well on my way. :) I have also lived and worked in Beijing China, with travels and work in Ji'an China with the former IFChina Project. I used to be in nuclear physics and worked at Los Alamos NM. I have traveled a few other places to for various reasons.

I love Yoga and Music and Art, Travel, and I participate in it all! I am big on going to concerts all the time. I like to read and find out how things work! I love my art, not that it's wonderful or anything, I just like to do it. I am currently putting most of my effort into photography. Yoga is a part of my life that drops in and out every few months. Travel is exciting so I try to do it as often as possible.
