About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy Japan, Malaysia & Thailand as much as possible!

ABOUT ME

I like to keep things relaxed. I enjoy a quiet early evening beer at a bar over late night partying. I never stress about the details, everything will turn out alright!

Reading, listening to music and watching movies would be some of my favourite things to do. I would also list walking, playing sports, taking photographs and playing guitar in that category.

I love fresh, healthy food. I try not to eat too much meat. I love traditional Indian, Japanese and Mediterranean foods.

I grew up in the UK but moved to New Zealand 3 years ago with my girlfriend, Elisha.

PHILOSOPHY

I've never had a personal philosophy but let's make one up now...

Treat people as you wish to be treated yourself and never judge anyone. Take it easy and relax, you only live once!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books
-----

I've only started appreciating books in the past few years.

I like anything by Haruki Murakami, Amitav Ghosh and David Mitchell.

Older books I enjoyed;

Moby Dick, 1984, Huckleberry Finn, Riddley Walker, The Hobbit, Crime & Punishment, Lions & Shadows.

More contemporary books I liked;

Other People's Money, The Dog Stars, Wolf Hall & Bring Up The Bodies, Cold Skin, The World Without Us, Croc Attack!

Movies
------

I like films that are well made and interesting over big blockbusters. I like the Coen Brothers movies a lot.

Some movies I've enjoyed;

Django Unchained, Intouchables, Headhunters, Drive, Extremely Loud Incredibly Close, Submarine, The Departed, There Will Be Blood, Cyrus, No Country For Old Men. This could go on for hours...

Music
-----

I like a lot of classic, easy listening music. I've just started to enjoy some of the more relaxing Jazz music out there. I do like some modern electronic music, but I tend to gravitate towards the old stuff.

I can't stand listening to main stream radio.

I love Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Neil Young.

I like Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Ben Howard.

I'm partial to a bit of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles.

Jazz!
-----

Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain, It Never Entered My Mind, Shhh/Peacful.

John Coltrane - Mr Syms, Central Park West, I'm Old Fashioned.

Gil Evans - Out Of The Cool

Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto - the album with Girl From Ipanema at the beginning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sunsets in Newquay(in Cornwall, UK), I enjoyed some of the best times of my life there and met many new friends... sunsets were the time everyone came together.

Travelling around India for 2 months with my girlfriend Elisha and our best friends Martin and Sophie...

Living in New Zealand for the past 3 years, experiencing the stunning landscape and cool people.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you ever visit the UK, make sure you go to Snowdonia in North Wales... it's an amazingly beatiful place.

If you arrive in Mumbai for the first time at the airport and it's dark outside, wait until it's light before catching a taxi to your hotel!

Did you know that when you look up at the moon at night that the darker patches that you can see are called "Maria". They are large plains that ancient astronmers used to believe were filled with water! It's also the name of one of my sisters...
