About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep finding new limits of my comfort zone... and then cross them.

ABOUT ME

IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ AT LEAST THIS PART:I give priority to emergency and last-minute requests, so PLEASE DON'T REQUEST MORE THAN 3-4 DAYS IN ADVANCE. I have friends and family staying over quite often and sometimes I do short term rentals, so I don't do booking on CS. Exception for veteran hosts here- you guys deserve that, and a big hug.About me:I spent enough time struggling for material wealth to make me realize that property is nothing but a massive burden to hold us back from truly experiencing life. All I need is fresh air, clean water, healthy food, friendship and passion. The exploiting society doesn't provide any of those. That's why I closed my little business, sold my car, and closed all accounts so I can travel and finally experience the sense of freedom- with no bills, debts, competition or servitude- just living!...OK, that was some time ago. Now the society has pressed me down again, so I'm "settled down".I'm studying "design of sustainability", because my university apparetnly realized that it can make profit on saving the world.I work trying to make some savings for either some social project or taking a year off to travel some more.

PHILOSOPHY

"When you get old you'll regret the things you didn't do, not those you did."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ok, so there's a lot of sissy-talk that CS is all about meeting people not free hotels etc. Well, it's simply not true.
Sure, I assume that the people who join this community must be friendly and fun in the first place, and even if they're not they get quickly filtered by the reference system (which is a detail, since negative references are less that 1% of all).
What I care about is supporting and promoting alternative, money-less economy- and that's precisely what CS is. So, yes I want you to get your free hotel when you're in my city, and I hope I'll have one when I travel.

Interests

I'm an info-junkie with vast interests. Though, I'm most interested in the society and sustainability. My plans for the future involve participation in the consturction of modern, sustainable eco-villages, and I actively advocate co-housing, "freeconomy", and all kids of community cooperation projects.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much for TV, but I do enjoy a good, deep movie, or a relaxing comedy; documentaries.

Alternative, variations of R&R and occasionally classical. Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Foo Fighters, etc.

I read mostly non-fiction - books that teach me something, but sometimes I like to escape into some absorbing fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving all my life behind the day I turned 18 by jumping into the nearest (well, the cheapest) airplane to anywhere far away...

...It would also enter the "One stupid thing done/seen" list if it was available.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach any of the languages I'm familiar with. I use the Michel Thomas method- purely conversational and the most effective I've ever found.

I've done a really long course about effective learning, so I can give you some tips if you don't already know them (mnemotechnincs, inreasing the reading speed, time managment etc.)

I have experience in dog handling and training. I can share many simple but effective tips and tricks. Lack of basic handling skills is harming to the animal, not the owner, so if you have a pup, expect me to share it whether you want it or not!

I'm interested in learning pretty much everything, so I'll just spare you the list.
