I was born and raised in Oakland, California. When I graduated high school I went to live in Spain for 1 year - studying and traveling - which is where I first discovered couchsurfing. Since then I have traveled around South America learning about ecology and getting involved in various sustainability projects while finishing up my undergrad in Chicago, where I have been based for the past 5 years. Since graduation I've been working for a cooperatively run urban farm business here in Chicago, where I am primarily responsible for managing our CSA program. I love plants, the outdoors, painting and cooking, and I long to do more traveling!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I try to stay away from tourist traps when I travel and prefer to learn about a place by getting to know the people that live there and diving head first into new experiences. Thats why I love couchsurfing, because it fosters those kinds of connections and experiences.
