About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring the Mid-Atlantic

ABOUT ME

I'm a fun-loving, outgoing, intelligent, liberal guy. I'm really into meeting different types of people and better understanding different cultures, politics, etc.
I think most people who know me would agree that I have a propensity towards making friends wherever I go, and for staying in touch with all the wonderful people I've encountered over the years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've always been a natural, de facto couchsurfer and host, but I've only recently gotten more involved in the CS community. I've done a ridiculous amount of informal couchsurfing (i.e. not through CS) on extensive roadtrips in the U.S. and crashed with a lot of people, but I've always loved hosting people -- no matter how remote my connection to them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted numerous times, mostly when I lived in Austin, Texas, and once when I lived in Cape Town, South Africa. I've met some really nice folks, and I usually like to show them around if I have the time.
I've never actually surfed with anyone ... yet.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Coen Brothers, documentaries, Rushmore. I also watch some high-quality TV series, like Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, and The Wire. And the Simpsons, always.
Music: Country (of the non-radio, non-Nashville, non-pop variety -- more Americana/folk/Texas country), some indie rock, classic rock, California punk.
Books: I read far too much nonfiction and not enough novels. I'm also a news junkie, so I love print newspapers and in-depth magazines like the Economist and the Atlantic.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Mexico, Mozambique, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Zambia, Zimbabwe
