About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See as much of the world as I can and get to know people from many different cultures while doing so!

ABOUT ME

It's pretty much a given being a member on here, but I love traveling. The first time I went abroad was with my high school band, and I knew right then that I wanted to see the world. My experiences since than have only solidified that decision! I've been blessed to be able to call 2 different national parks home (Denali and Big Bend), and love visiting others when I am able. Spent one season (so far) on the ice- AKA in Antarctica.

Spent the last couple years in Madrid as an English language assistant (auxiliar de conversación), now in Alaska for my 8th summer, working at the moment as a Tour Director.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest while you have the chance, be it 8 more minutes or 80 more years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfed in:
~ Munich ~ Vienna ~ Budapest ~ Prague ~ Dortmund ~ Denver, CO ~ Baltimore, MD ~ Fort Saint John, BC ~ Carlsbad, NM ~ Alamosa, CO ~ Omaha, NE ~ Saskatoon, SK ~

Plus attending CS gatherings in Budapest, Prague, Pamplona, Minneapolis, and Madrid.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love the fact that you get to know your host and hear about things from a completely different perspective than you may be used to! One thing that has also been great has been the chance to go to a few CS meetings. They are a great way to meet a lot of people-locals and other travelers-and hear stories about their own experiences!

Interests

Music (particularly barbershop), reading, theatre, traveling, speaking Spanish, getting out into nature to go hiking or partake in other adventures, photography (not professionalby any means, but for my own enjoyment.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done is work as a camp counselor. My fellow counselors were all amazing people, and I was able to learn new lessons from each group of campers as well!

Adventure-wise, one of my most amazing experiences was a glacier landing flight in Denali National Park in Alaska. It was absolutely breathtaking!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more than happy to teach a bit of Spanish or English if you don't know one of those languages and would like to know how to say something! I can teach you how to play some card games if there's a deck around, share my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe, or information I've picked up through work, travel, and hobbies.

As far as learning, I'd be willing to find out a bit about pretty much anything of interest to whoever it happens to be that I'm with...be it random facts, a language, a game of some sort, cooking, etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Antarctica, Spain, United States
