Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

I am an adventurer at heart. I love genuine human connection and that believe everyone has a story to tell. I want to learn as much as I can while I can.

ABOUT ME

I love being outside. camping, biking, swimming, walking, everything. I'm a thrifter and a crafter. I can make just about anything and what I cant I can find as close to free as possible. I like the idea of creating something that wouldn't have existed without me. I promise to make you something if I CS at your place :]

I enjoy going to music festivals and being around good people and good vibes. Culture, communication, and travel play a large roll in my life. Despite my large vocabulary I am a terrible speller. I am a very open and honest person and love meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that everyone as something to bring to the table. Everyone has a story to tell.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel for the most part. mainly in the mid west and on the west coast. I am also looking to be a host for travelers like myself and making new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

so far the extent of my experience on c.s. is meeting up with a few local indy surfers for decembers 1st friday and went to the earth house for a concert.

2.19.10: hosted my first surfer Nate from Colorado for the night.

Hosted Ian from Boston in april and again in dec 2010. had a blast both times.

hosted catlin and her friend in May 2010. despite their car troubles they arrived safely and were great company.

Intereses

I sew, bike, write, and crochet in my spare time. I love to read and listen to music. Photography is my life and I plan on expanding my portfolio and work experience through the help of this site.

I like to make long term projects for myself. in 2009 i made a different craft a week and in 2010 my plan was to see 1,000 bands live which I only missed my mark by a handful.

this year my goal is to go to at least 10 music festivals and not pay out of pocket for any of them by either volunteering or selling handi-crafts at the show to cover my expenses. I also want to be able to complete my book on my experiences from last year.

Música, películas y libros

My favorite bands are 311, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Medeski, Martin, & Wood. Currently listening to Midwest Hype, Papadosio, U.V. Hippo, 8 stories high, cornmeal, Pnuma Trio, Umphreys McGee, Minus The Bear, The Airborn toxic event, MGMT, The Shins, Shameless Self Promotion, Phoenix, Passion Pitt, The Faint, Skrillix, Deadmau5, Bassnectar, Girl Talk, SMash Bro's.

I worked at a theatre for three years so my movie list can be quite extensive. My top fav's include Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, fight club, waking life, life as a house, big fish, fried green tomatoes, The Crow, Forest Gump, 5th element, snatch, The Big Labowski, Accepted, Wedding Crashers, The Darjeeling Limited, Where The Wild Things Are, The Secret Of Nimh, Donnie Darko, once, the page master.

I love Ellen Hopkins' books. I love books on crafting, photography, fashion, nature, drugs, etc. if theres a book you love, I'm up for recommendations.

Algo increíble que he hecho

The thing I'm most proud of was completing a triathlon. It was physically and mentally challenging but was worth it in the end.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

One of the big things I've learned from my travels so far is to support anything local. by doing so you're contributing to the people behind it more directly and can help promote creativity and a more open and personable community instead of just driving up to a wal-mart and going home. it demands a certain amount of actual human interaction and not just a person going through the motions to get on with their repetitive daily routine.

promoting and supporting Local markets, music, art or anything for that matter is somewhat your roll in helping someone else achieve their goal and ambition, one that which could be their dreams becoming reality- all because of you.
