À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying the light of the Swedish sumer

ABOUT ME

Was brought up in a suburb north of Stockholm, called Täby, where you e.g. can find the densest area of rune stones in the world (not that there are many out of Sweden but anyway... =)).

In the age of 13 and 14 I lived, with my parents in Waterloo (you know with Napoleon and everything), Belgium. Unfortunately (at least as I see it now) I went to a Scandinavian school and thus I didn't learn too much French.

Now though I live in the wonderful town of Uppsala 70 km north of Stockholm, where I study engineering physics.

THE year of 2010 could be the best year of my life, the year I went to NEW ZEELAND! I lived in the, not perfect but perfectly placed, city of Christchurch. I fell in love with the land the people (and perhaps even more, the people's idea of the people). So why didn't I stay? There are many reasons for it. But one day I'll be back to visit, or perhaps to stay.

Now that I'm home I'm miss one thing more than most: going up the mountains. Of this I've done something creative: a hiking club in Uppsala.

PHILOSOPHY

Be amazed by and explore the earth and universe that is given to us.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Now that I'm back in a more stable environment in the country I grew up in ("home" country has started to become a complicated concept after NZ) I'm about to start hosting people. Soo looking forward to it! =D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed at a couple of places so far, which has been a mixture of great with some (I guess life learning) problems involved.

Centres d'intérêt

Wonderful and special movies. Big fan of film festivals. Experience nature in every single way e.g. walking in the mountains, lie on grass field watching clouds sweep over the otherwise blue sky, stargazing on a cold winter night and last but not least learning about its origin and most inner soul in the sciences of nature. Singing in choirs.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

God there are many good movies! My favorite could be Ben X, a must-see-movie especially if you've ever played any MMORPG. It's a most serious movie that no one will be untouched by and many will get quite angry about, so don't see on a having-a-good-laugh-night with your friends, rather be prepared for some discussion after it. Other movies I love is all the movies by Darren Aronofsky. That is Pi, Requiem of a Dream, The Fountain (might be the most beautiful movie ever made, pure art!). The Tim Burton movies are also splendid. I suppose many of you already know about them, but if you haven't: start out with either Big Fish or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (this one just puts the biggest smile on your face and a warm hart). If you know Swedish or if you'll find it with subs I could truly recommend the best Swedish movie ever, that is Storm! A relatively new movie I could recommend is one I saw on Stockholm Film Festival 2010. Fish Tank. Might be the most intensive film I've ever seen. You're right in the movie from first to last frame. You'll like it!

Books and music are also great, but since the text is so long already...

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

When I was out on a walk on a travel with my mother to Greenland we met a flock of almost wild houses. After a while two of the horses started to fight/play. They both stood on their hind legs and kicked at the other one with their front legs swinging their mane in the air. Was dreamingly amazing! Like watching a movie...

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Did you know the world might have ten or eleven dimensions. That is, not just the four (up-down, forward-backward, left-right and time) we are used to, but actuarially six or seven more!
