ABOUT ME

In short, I love to joke around and make fun of anything that comes to mind. I like to upgrade my personality from time to time as I get to know new ideas, opinions and experiences.

I grew up in Jerusalem and love it very much, but my work as a software engineer drove me to the high-tech industry in Tel-Aviv. My true interests, however, are human psychology and languages (and traveling of course). I'm curious about people and enjoy learning new languages and different cultures. I live by myself in a small apartment, trying to make my way in this world, preferably along with interesting people I encounter.

PHILOSOPHY

It is usually better to try to understand people before judging them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined CS while traveling in South-America, surfed some couches and went to a few gatherings. In Israel I also attended some meetings, but now I mostly host people because I think it's the best way to get to know a person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I unintentionally joined CS while looking for a place to stay in Buenos Aires for 2010's new year when all the hostels I checked were fully booked, but changed my mind soon when I did find a hostel. Only more than a month later, in Colombia, I rediscovered this community through Martin, my Austrian roommate, to whom I am still grateful for it. Thanks to Martin, I realized that CS is much more than a free couch. It is a way of living which really suits me.

It always has been and still is awesome to know people from other countries, especially hearing their opinion about my country and other places I visited to get different perspectives. Even though sometimes I don't like what I hear, it does open my mind to know there are people who think differently.

ski, snowboard, scuba diving, free diving, skydiving, hiking, nature, languages and linguistics, human psychology, cultures, latin dances, cooking (not good at it but I like to learn), photography (amateur), massage (amateur).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing that I've done in my life is amazing compared to the really amazing people in this community who had already done all that and so much more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Answers to some frequently asked questions I've been asked about Jews and Israel:
Israel is not in Europe nor in Africa. It's in Asia.
Women in Israel don't have to cover their faces.
Israel doesn't have a war with Afghanistan.
Jesus Christ is not a part of the Jewish religion - otherwise it wouldn't be different from Christianity.
It is possible to live in the land where Jesus lived without believing in him, just as it is possible to live in Perú without believing in the Inca gods.

What I would like to learn: Languages, cultures, history, cooking and basically everything about this world and its people.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Peru

Countries I’ve Lived In
