About Me

Hi there! As you see, I am quite an active couchsurfer: I host and surf a lot, and this project takes a large part in my life. I am an easygoing girl who loves learning the new things. I learn something every day and I like when I can learn something from the couchsurfers too. I love music, books, art and architecture and if you are into history and culture, you are very welcome to stay with me. I recently started playing drums and it became one of my biggest passions!
I am originally from St. Petersburg, Russia.
!!! We don't host for 1 day
!!! We prefer getting request in advance (minimum 1 week but maximum 3 weeks in advance)
* We collect souvenir playing cards. So if you bring us a deck of cards with the views of your city/country/museum, that would be awesome!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: All films of Woody Allen, Pianist, Shindler's List, Horx de Prix, Midnight in Paris, La Vita e' Bella, Almost Famous, Pulp Fiction, Intouchables.

Music: it's the most difficult part. Music is my main passion: I listen to music all the time, and almost everyone who knows me could say that I am a music geek. Well, I love blues most of all, blues rock, grunge and garage, art rock, psychedelic rock, some of folk rock of 60s and beginning of 70s (actually I am fond of 1960-70s culture in general), jazz, Brazilian jazz and bossa-nova, and surely classic music which is immortal.

Books: I like reading different kinds of books: sometimes "intellectual", sometimes not so much. I prefer literature of XX century but read contemporary and of much recent time too. I also love biographies and memoirs of people I adore (especially of rock musicians). In my flat there are hundreds and hundreds of books in different languages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

August 2010: I went out alone for 2-days hiking in mountains in the Crimea (Ukraine) without anything - special clothes or shoes, food, water. It was not deliberately and dangerous but unforgettable!
And that was my third time on the Crimea peninsula, so I actually visited plenty of places there and NOT fed up! :-)

September 2010: First CS-experience of surfing done in Poland!

May 2011: Travel to Spain. My host in Girona (Spain) took me and her other surfers with her car and we traveled the whole day around small and unique Catalan towns and villages.

May 2011: Saw FC Barcelona team players from about 5 meters far...

August 2011: 2-weeks travel through Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony (Germany), visiting unknown towns, villages and monasteries. Speaking only German :-)

February 2012: Got frozen in Paris... But to see winter Paris the way Ernest Hemingway does was unforgettable.

March 2012: Architectural conference in Florence and living in the very center of this (one of my most favorite) town.

August 2012: Travel to Malta. Swimming in the caves of Comino and Gozo, lying on the back and watching the massive mountain above me. First jump from the rock with my host Leo: it was scary and awesome at the same time.

March 2013: First travel outside of Europe, first time I crossed the ocean an equator by plane, first time swam in the ocean (Atlantic). It was an amazing travel to Brazil! And another great architectural conference.

May 2013: Art Biennale in Venice and visiting it as a journalist. Traveling to many places in Veneto region was my dream since childhood.

June 2013: June 1 - journey..I'd say voyage organized by one great Venetian CSr Michele. We traveled by motor boat from one island to another, visited the workshop of his friends glass-blowers and met many amazing people. The day finished with a wonderfully delicious dinner made by his friends.

July-August 2014: 39-days traveling around the UK and staying in London for many-many days. And I have visited the incredible amount of beautiful places in England and attended the biggest in England and one of the biggest in Europe congress (on medieval studies). Unforgettable motorbike trip with Tony to Wales. The best trip I've ever done!

All the routes around my native country:
Golden Ring of Russia, Karelia, Onega and Ladoga Lakes, Novgorod the Great, Pskov and Izborsk, Moscow, Staraya Ladoga.
