About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding love, inner-peace, harmony, and happiness

ABOUT ME

I'm a recovering travel addict. I spent 30 months traveling continuously from 2011-2014 and it was life-changing. I couchsurfed a ton, and those people I met along the way left a stronger impression on me than many of the places I visited. In the meantime I got my PhD and became a professor, but mostly so I have summers to travel ;)

My website is http://www.HappinessPlunge.com

PHILOSOPHY

The golden rule
Leave the earth giving it more than it gave you
Be the change you wish to see in the world
Take the path less traveled - the happy one!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here for the people. I met some of the nicest, warmest, most inspiring people across the world through CS. When I moved to Denmark I also met a lot of wonderful people who eventually became friends through CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like lots of movies, but I think now I prefer inspirational stories more than rampant violence or cheesy romantic commedies.

The book The Power of Now changed my life for the better, and I share it here so maybe it can help change yours for the better as well!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Participated in the world's biggest food fight
Hot air balloon over Cappadocia
Traveled to North Korea
Safari in Southern Africa
Lived a year of my life on the ocean
Dropped out of the corporate world to be a happy nomad
Sunrise at Angkor Wat
Machu Pichu
Meditated with snakes and dead people in Thailand
Volunteered all over the world
Diwali and Holi in India
Stayed at an Indian ashram
Lived with families in villages too remote for Google Maps
Met a Noble Prize winner
Ringing in the new year on 5 different continents
2.5 years of continuous travel
