About Me

CURRENT MISSION

organic farming, gardening. This place is all year daily meditaton retreat conducive to inner work.

ABOUT ME
I had moved back to California in 2013 and currently live on the North coast of Mendocino so I can host you personally there only. I am still building my house since 2015 September while I live in the old cabin. If you are an old friend returning or new, drop me a message especially if you happen to wonder to North California and need a place to stay and connect with the current exciting projects there which we have plenty of.
This place in North Thailand is operated currently by a charming couple who speak English well. If you drop in , they will accommdate you, but I cannot service this location any longer. The lodge is in the forest, near a road that goes on through several villages to the Burma border, situated in a small valley of beauty. Our base camp consists of a big teak structure and several other smaller bamboo structures around, no neighboring structures are visible. Below our base is the Nam Khong river surrounded by lush vegetation. Our lodge was built in the early 70s named Wilderness Lodge.
We are ste up with solar energy but not large enough capacity and charging activity is limited to the mornings for our mobile phones , etc.
The Nam Khong Wilderness Project intends to become a good example toward restoring, building and maintaining healthy top soil in the forest and farmland. Our wish is to stop the locals from burning the forest and to educate them by example how to manage their natural resources sustainably which can be a daunting life long project.

PHILOSOPHY

As I keep paying my dues believing that we can and so we shall overcome, taking life as it is, staying in the present, taking nothing for granted, always asking questions like: how can i simplify?...what is the underlying intention here?... and questioning everything since I keep discovering that nothing is what it seems. When I get out of the Jungle and go to the city, my almighty mantra is: SHUT Up! Relax and Breathe evenly but selectively.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the wilderness project we would like:
any one with a good heart and love for nature,
furthermore:
Yogis, Healers,Volunteers
Farmers/Woofers,
Gardeners,Builders, Cooks, Students,Scientists, Botanists, Teachers, Fish and Wildlife experts,
Entomologists, Video documentary crew members for impending project aiming change the prevailing mindset and the negative impact of humans on forest/farmland/wildlife habitat/ soil destruction with the main focus on man made forest fires all over the North of Thailand, Burma, Laos and other areas.

medicine:, be prepared with your own medications, we have MMS, bring your own bug spray
food needs: Since we are in a more remote location, local supplies are limited for foreigner's needs,. we go shopping and buy things once a week, but if inclined so, bring: fresh bread from bakery, fresh milk from 7/11, ....(we have our own coffee from our wheat, kitchen wine, made with rice, banana, papaya and fruits in season, cheese, yoghurt, Kombucha tea, Cahapati)...We cook breakfast and dinner but there is a charge of 80Baht/meal to cover our cost and the food is good and plenty.
ICE for the food/drink cooler box is in shortage. We have greens, papayas, bananas from the garden and forest veggies from around us.

accommodating people have expenses involved (washing sheets, toilet paper, kitchen supplies, cleaning, maintenance, petrol, etc.,)the donations we get from travelers keeps us going.
labor involved: at this stage we cannot afford to have paid staff without going negative in cash. We have to keep the place well cleaned every day ourselves. So far all CS guests have been very helpful in collecting firewood and house keeping, washing dishes and garden work, but some just need to drop out and rest and it is the place to do it....
If you have some sculptural skills, or want to learn them, you can help us with making some art, statues, Buddhas, etc...I customize painting, sculpture, bamboo craft instruction.
