About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to boldly go where ... wait...:/ that's taken now isn't it? well i guess to boldly host ... that works!

ABOUT ME

Most of my friends would say that i am a pretty adventurous, active, easy going and fun kinda dude that you can always count on to have a good time with. I've also been told that i am generous, well-mannered with slight sarcasm and witty, but of course you'd have to be the judge for that.

When i am not working at my mundane 9 to 5 as a developer / architect, you can usually find me in the local hot yoga studio unwinding at the end of the day, or out on the road running, cycling, in the pool doing a 90 mins swim drill, or in a climbing gym scaling some walls and solving some problems.

I race triathlons competitively and am an Ironman level triathlete.

I love being active and sharing my favourite activities with others, and encouraging others to share my view of the sometimes-excessive activism while remain utterly shameless about it... life is all about the motion! :)

Reading is also a huge part of my life. anything that teaches me something new is usually well-received by this brain. travel journals, magazines, books about AI, math, history of science, history of civilization, biographies of interesting individuals, psychology, learning, inspirational writings, nerdy comics, etc. etc. no non-sense.

i've always traveled since i could remember. I lived and traveled in several different cities in China with my parents, then moved to the States on an exchange program for a year when i was 15. After that i fell more in love with traveling and learning about new cultures, i signed up for a year in the UK studying British lit after grade 12. After that i traveled in Europe for a bit, before coming to Canada and semi-settling down here. However i still would like to think of it all as a still-evolving story. :)

PHILOSOPHY

take a whole away from a whole, you are still left with a whole. put a whole into a whole, you will still have a whole.

someone once told me that time is a fire in which we all burn. I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived. After all Number One, we're only mortal.

keep 'er cruisey!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to host, as well as travel. I have a gorgeous, 4 bedroom house plus finished basement, decent sized backyard with garden, two level decks with furniture, 3 couches (2 full sized, 1 compact), 1 inflatable bed, a well-stocked fridge with exotic European / Canadian brews and delicacies, a bbq in the backyard and a brilliant large kitchen.

I currently live with three awesome dudes, and am loving the great company and good humor!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for the very first time this year when i made my trip out to BC. A lovely girl hosted me in Vancouver and showed me around, was an awesome experience!

I was born and raised in China (mainland) for 15 years, before moving out to a small town in New York called Slatehill. There i crashed with an awesome American family for a year while going on an exchange program in a local high school. After that i went on to London, UK to pursue a post-secondary diploma in literature in King's College for year, before finally deciding to come to Canada and making Waterloo - a lovely little town situated in the gorgeous south-western Ontario my home.
