ABOUT ME

I like to think I'm an easy-going, relaxed person who gets a natural high out of going new places, meeting new people and straying dangerously out of my comfort zone. I love the outdoors - exploring natural sights, strolling aimlessly around foreign cities, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess the Golden Rule - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" - would be most accurate. Having respect for other people - whether it's their beliefs, likes/dislikes, background, etc - is something I firmly believe in. I think I'm about as chilled out as they come.

By going to meetings, hanging out with fellow travelers and locals alike.

This site is clearly a great way to experience new cultures and check out life from other people's perspectives - people you wouldn't otherwise meet on the typical tourist trail. As someone who has backpacked around and spent time in many a (dodgy)youth hostel, it is great to know there is an ever-growing community of trusting people out there who are sharing their own couches with other backpackers!

On the whole, it has been great.

I'm only interested in hanging out with people who want to use this site for what it is intended for: meeting other people from different walks of life and experiencing new surroundings - and having a good time!

I'm an adventurer at heart - and I'm also a big sports-lover. Other interests include playing the guitar and reading a good book, checking out gigs, surfing and traveling. I'm also a writer.

I'm a big fan of Updike, Roth, Bukowski, et al. As for non-fiction, I enjoy Malcolm Gladwell and Chuck Klosterman.

Movies/TV: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men, Lost in Translation, Drive, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, etc......

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I've done heaps of interesting stuff, I think. But the most amazing things I've seen or done are usually less grandiose: playing soccer in Thailand with locals, or busking in Stratford-upon-Avon for a couple of shillings.
