About Me

CURRENT MISSION trying to figure out how to change address here. I've moved to northern Idaho!

Life, sharing, CommUnity building, and practicing non-action.

I write fairy tales for English/ASL storytelling to create signing villages of signing hearing and Deaf kids. I work to teach teachers how to teach with ASL Tales. Everyone needs fairy tales and the more languages the better.

ABOUT ME

The most frustrating, hardest and satisfying thing I've ever done is summarized here and shows you a bit of me: http://digbatonrouge.com/article/lifted-by-language-6443/

What I've heard most recently: "You'll make a great old lady."

What I heard last year: "I appreciate that you face challenges, work through difficulties and practice changing."

What I heard when my daughter was three: " Mama, I wish I had a big butt like yours, then I wouldn't fall into the toilet."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted so many great people and many have returned more than a couple of times. I do love the community based idea! I've been a guest and truly appreciative of the generous hosting and friendliness.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whether traveling or hosting, my CS experience has been super.

Interests

Meditation has changed my life and perspective; I enjoy the present and each personal interaction more and more.

I have left a community, the Conspiracy of Sharing whom I loved, then we lost our center. I learned to create gift circles, community dinners and fun evenings of sharing music, poetry, stories and laughter. Every Friday morning we sponsored Hope Tank, including a community breakfast, then exploration on how to practice non-violence in our lives everyday.

Now, I am experimenting with homelessness (voluntary), and watching life unfold.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

LIFE Absolutely astonished I was to wake up alive after emergency surgery. I wish not to take life for granted, ever.

Twin babies, then twin toddlers, then twin teens, then twin tweens - they keep amazing me.

Meeting a Cossack who escaped the Bolsheviks and turned his life around after war and more war.

Met a languageless man who is still changing my life.
