About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I live to travel, I travel to live (statement is also applicable to food and shopping) ;)

ABOUT ME

Talking about myself? Oh, this is so gonna take a while since apparently, I have an ego the size of the universe (naturally, I totally, completely, whole-heartedly disagree ;)). On second thought, I think I'll leave it for the next time I have insomnia and in dire need of something to do (trust me, counting sheeps or stars do NOT work...listening to myself singing in the shower on the other hand, works extremely well (not because I'm a good singer...quite the opposite in fact!) but sadly, I can't stay in the shower all night long. For now, it's enough to say that I'm a very honest person and I believe in always trying to do the right thing, I talk a lot but I am also an excellent listener and you can always talk to me about anything at any time, I love to laugh (and to make people laugh), I take an interest in pretty much everything under the sun because there are so many cool stuff out there, I believe in having fun and living life to the fullest (it's not always easy and it doesn't always seem possible, but the important thing is I try), I have a great sense of humour and I'll try anything at least once (eating 86 oysters in one setting? Check. Move halfway across the world on a whim? Check. Memorize Brad Pitt's autobiography? Check!). So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, I'm charmed and dangerous ;) Actually, I'm not but I've always really, really wanted to use that phrase and now I have...what an achievement! ;p

PHILOSOPHY

Potterholic, Chocoholic, Shopaholic, Travelholic, Bookaholic, Oceanholic

Interests

Travelling (first Europe, followed by the world, then if I can somehow interpret intergalactic maps, I'll try the nearby galaxies and then merrily gallivant all over the universe, solar system by solar system), Photography (I've been obsessed ever since I got my first Nikon at age 11), Reading (I read absolutely everything from novels to shopping catalogues to how many hazelnuts are concealed in a bar of chocolate (yummy!) to where a jar of mayonnaise is manufactured to all 26 definitions of the word "to" in a dictionary), Writing (it's one of my favourite things in the world), Blogging (yes well, you know, the whole "as big as the universe ego thing"), Eating (one of life's greatest pleasures), Shopping (retail therapy does wonders for your stress...that is, until you come home and look properly at the receipts), Going to the beach (if there is such thing as heaven on earth, beaches would be it), Cafe and Restaurant hunting (an all time favourite activity of mine), Architecture (I can go all starry eyed and become totally speechless over the wonders of architecture), Wandering and getting lost (anywhere from streets and alleys to beaches to shopping complexes to parks), Movies (I'm a huge, huge film buff!), Music, Sports (tennis, ice hockey, water sports, winter sports, pretty much all sports), Food (again! surely you detect a recurring pattern?), History (especially of ancient Rome and Greece), Talking (it's probably obvious by now ;p), Laughing (thre is no greater or happier sound than laughter), all in no particular order...

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Harry Potter series (alright, I admit it, I'm a full HP fanatic), Percy Jackson and the Olympian series (Rick Riordan), Kay Scarpetta series (Patricia Cornwell), The Hours (Michael Cunningham), Bridget Jones's Diary 1&2 (Helen Fielding), books by the following authors: Lisa Scottoline, Linda Fairstein, Janet Evanovich, Joanne Harris, Tracy Chevalier, Jostein Gaardner, Isabelle Allende, and John Grisham (minus the last 4 or 5 books, sorry!), Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (C. S. Lewis), Thursday Next Series (Jasper Fforde), Matilda and The BFG by Roald Dahl (tee hee, they're my childhood favourites ;p), Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas (James Patterson-I cry buckets everytime I read this book, I'm such a sap ;p), Alexander the Great trilogy (Valerio Massimo Manfredi), Emperor: Julius Caesar series (Conn Iggulden), Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (Rebecca Wells-I laughed so hard I was afraid my ribs were going to crack), To Kill a Mockingbird (Lee Harper), The Blind Assassin (Margaret Atwood), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), okay, do I really have to go on? Oh, and must not forget my beloved Calvin&Hobbes comics (by Bill Watterson) and of course travel guides!

Movies: Amelie, The Spanish Apartment, Russian Dolls, Chocolat, Harry Potter 1-4, Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, All About My Mother & Volver (I love Pedro Almodovar's films!), Something's Gotta Give, F*cking Amal or in its less scandalous English title: Show Me Love, Bridget Jones's Diary 1, The Hours, Pride&Prejudice (2005), A Beautiful Mind, Bend it like Beckham, Troy (well, Brad Pitt [in a skirt no less!] pretty much says it all), Shrek 1&2, Over the Hedge, Million Dollar Baby, The Barbarian Invasion...I'm a huge fan of arthouse and independent films though some mainstream movies are fantastic as well. What can I say? I love films;)

Music: alternative (very much my thing!), rock, classical, occasionally pop (cheesy lyrics and all), I listen to anything really, it's the music that counts, not the genre.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I have extensive knowledge of all things Harry Potter (probably subconsciously memorized all the books and the movie scripts by now ;p). I also know a lot about Calvin&Hobbes plus I'm a total expert on walking, brooding, daydreaming, acting like a lunatic on the beach (not that I ever did of course). And oh, it's been unanimously voted by teachers worldwide that I'm an incorrigible prankster who is very much expected to write a Pranking Manual 101 someday soon so anytime you would like any help on pranking, just let me know!
