I am forgetful to a point that almost strains credulity, but terribly, terribly cheerful about it. I am enthusiastic about almost anything I'm engaged in, but have an especial fondness for mischief, excitement, and taking hypothetical descriptions way too far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only ever genuinely surfed once, in Marrakech, for three days - I had a phenomenal experience and I plan to have more!

Also met a lovely friend/guide in Montreal for much touring and historical info about the city. Couldn't have asked for more hospitality, and we didn't even stay with her!

Interests

Photography, language acquisition (as an academic discipline and as an activity!), psychology, spectacles, trampolines, games of all kinds, acquiring skills, ballroom dancing, the circus, cooking/eating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen some incredible, reasonably exclusive archaeological sites (and participated in a dig in Ostia Antica, outside of Rome). The most dramatic of which always seemed to be underground - most important was probably the first Mithraeum I ever saw,* underneath San Clemente in Rome, and the slimiest one I ever waded into, under one of Ostia's bathhouses.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach the Arabic and Greek alphabets, some basic ballroom dance moves (waltz, tango, foxtrot, cha-cha, rumba, and swing), a little about photography, a recipe or two, how to hula hoop, and all you'd ever like to know about ancient textual criticism!
