About Me

Currently living outside of Berlin in Brandenburg!

I have always been curious about different cultures and want to find out how the countries we are living in define us as persons but also what defines a country apart from its borders. What motivates us to stay in our home countries rather than pushing borders and just to freely move around?
Honestly I have never understood the concept of War and just cannot understand why human beings with the current access to education and experience from the past are still using weapons. And I think one of the reasons that I have never understood and probably will never understand this is because I had the chance to live on several continents and make friends around the world. And I guess this is also part of my mission: I love to connect people! Every problem can be solved with the little help of someone and sometimes we just need to find the right person that can help us. Couchsurfing is a big step into this direction.

PHILOSOPHY

I always try to fill my life with great experiences. However, I consider also bad experiences as great value since I always try to learn out of them and use them for me to grow as a personality.I want to be surrounded by inspiring people but lead my life in a way that can be inspiring for others.
I believe in good people and try to be optimistic about everything in my life...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The first time I really tried Couchsurfing was in Australia when I was living and working there as a nanny after my graduation. I met cool people via CS and made good friends that I still like to chat with. My first surfing experience then was amazing: I was supposed to travel with a friend and planned to stay at a Couchsurfers house who was old enough to be my dad or uncle. In the end my friend had to cancel and I ended up travelling alone. I have to admit that I was kind of nervous before arriving at the place but it was just wonderful! I hd the chance to meet and exchange thoughts with a person I probably would have never talked to unless there was CS.

Back home in Germany I also surfed and hosted which was always a very good experience.

I love Couchsurfing because it gives you the opportunity to explore a foreign country or city more authentically. Meeting local people allows you to get an understanding of their culture, their values, food, languages, ... everything!

Interests

Mostly I am interested in everything and am always keen on learning something new so I like to listen and learn..

I LOVE food, cooking - and of course - eating :)
So I would be super happy if I can cook together with hosts and surfers to exchange recipes and just to learn new cooking styles! (Btw I'm vegetarian, so I exclude meat, fish and seafood from my diet)

Apart form eating I am into Yoga. Two years ago I went for a Yoga Teacher Training in India and have dedicated my life to the practice since then. However I am not an extremist in this way - I believe Yoga can have various shapes and forms. For me it is a way of maintaining and creating mindfulnes in my life. Others achieve this through sports, walks in the nature, ... Everyone has their own ways and I am happy if people find their own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My best trip so far was backpacking in Cuba with a German girl I got to know in Mexico and two Mexicans..
It was so much fun and also it was so easy to get in touch with Cubans who were so welcoming and friendly! Also getting to know a country that is in some way so much different compared to what I know was inpressive.. But also the places we saw, the parties we had, the beaches.. Incredible!

My first Skydive also was one of the experiences I will never forget - I totally loved the adrenaline rush and the feeling of just think about nothing and to live the moment..
