About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish the stuff we've started.

ABOUT ME

We are a gracious, friendly, and interesting mature couple. Willing to entertain guests, but they have to view all our travel pics. LOL We have built (still building) a house with a two bed room apartment on the 2nd floor with balcony overlooking the lake. This apartment is just for the use of guests. You can make it here by public transport but you'd want to stay for a while to make it worth the trip. About 3 hours by car from Detroit, MI. Much longer by bus.

PHILOSOPHY

We travel not for trafficking alone:
By hotter winds our fiery hearts are fanned.
For lust of knowing what should not be known
We make the Golden Journey to Samarkand JE Flecker

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We signed up while planning a RTW journey. We met some great people and still keep in touch. Never actually had to sleep on a couch.
Now we are able to entertain travelers as we were entertained by others on our travels. Still meeting great people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Good.

Music, Movies, and Books

We liked the movie "Out of Africa" for instance. Still like In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. And just finished "Following the Equator" by Mark Twain, great tongue in cheek American humor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We still haven't done that most amazing thing yet. But we're working on it. We took 20 months to travel through 44 countries. Our travel blog is at: http://www.travelpod.com/members/yoni
And, oh yes, we built that building you see in the photos by ourselves.

Teach, Learn, Share

We're pretty good at light construction having built our own home (or homes). We know a bunch of other useless stuff too.

Countries I’ve Visited
