About Me

CURRENT MISSION
We recently bought into Alegria ecovillage in Costa Rica so our current mission is to create the abundance we need to build our little house and settle there semi-permanently!

My hubby and I are both artists and we aim to create our living through our creativity - ceramics, sculpture, digital art and design we are into....

We spent the first 6 months of our relationship living and volunteering down in Baja mexico which is a very special place to me. We were living off grid at an permaculture community called Biosana where we renovated an earthen temple.
Before that i was at uni doing a Contemporary Craft degree where I was casting and fusing glass, hand building and slip casting ceramic and knocking together bits of salvaged wood and metal to make nostalgic items/toys. Interested in creating sacred spaces and installations- alters, meditation pods/areas. I make bells and have a blog about the journey down the west coast we just completed, hanging them in different trees along the way.

ABOUT ME
I try and bring presence into my life and see the lessons in situations that arise. Be joyful and grateful... life is wonderful after all! I have a daily meditation practice. I spend a lot of time walking in the woods, clambouring around hills and small mountains, swimming in rivers. Thats where I feel closest to the divine.....and recognise we are that divinity.

PHILOSOPHY

Trust in life and love
You have 3 options in every situation: Accept, Try to change or Leave....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have stayed with many people now all over the world and its been a great thing to get involved with. I have hosted a couple of times in the yurt I made and lived in for a couple of years. Right now i am living half the time in the US. We will be hosting when we have a place to call home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wow! I have had some great experiences! So much kindness! I was given a hotel room in Kos, Turkey one time. Stayed on an amazing boat in Vancouver Canada, so many awesome dinners, nights out, visits to local attractions. So much trust is shown which I think is key to a happy life- its so painful to be worried and fearful!

Interests

Making things especially out of natural materials or second hand/salvaged /scavenged 'rubbish'. My yurt frame is made from johnson grass- an invasive bamboo-like species that grows everywhere along the coast in Portugal. I like to sew and have started making willow baskets. I love photography but my SLR recently took a dive into the sea so stuck with compact at the mo :( Painting too.
Also- tiny houses, self-build dwellings, permaculture, veg growing, Mushrooms!, the sea, woodlands, trees! hiking, hitching, ambitious crazy travelling plans!!
