About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find a job that allows me to travel as much as possible. With that, enjoy life.

ABOUT ME

Since I can't think of any other way to start this, I'll just start it: I'm a fast talker, I love meeting people from new cultures and places (just as much as anyone here, I guess), I always try to learn little bits of new languages and I am really curious about the world (if you tell me you come from a small town in the middle of nowhere, I just can't help but to Google Map it). I love getting lost inside Wikipedia learning about new stuff, I enjoy reading books (mostly novels but I also like to learn about History) and I watch quite a few tv series. I'm an atheist (even though I recently converted to Pastafarianism, the true Faith!) and I listen mostly to punk-rock (although according to Wikipedia the bands I listen to the most are in the "melodic hardcore" genre) and some of its variations (Ska-Punk, Celtic-punk, gypsy punk, you name it). I don't think of myself as a computer nerd, so please don't expect me to know the Microsoft Word menus by heart ;) Oh yeh, and I am lazy and I complain a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

Public transportation rocks, conservatism and 19th century mentality doesn't. Reducing the planet's CO2 emissions to decrease pollution is a good idea (even in the off-chance that global warming turns out to be false, which I reckon is just what the auto companies want us to think) and using the same shoes as everyone else is not.
(the concepts here presented are not necessarily connected, by the way)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A couple of years ago I interrailed around Europe with 2 of my friends and we were couchsurfing 37 of the 40 days we were out. That was quite nice, we got to know some nice people, and see different things than we would have otherwise. Unfortunately, I lost all of those contacts, so here's a small list of people who were kind enough to host me since 2010:

1. Oli (Bristol, UK)
2. Catarina Meng (Porto, Portugal)
3. Yeshe (Melbourne, Australia)
4. Kevin (Sydney, Australia)
5. Christine (Sydney, Australia)
6. Mike (Auckland, New Zealand)
7. Thomas (Auckland, New Zealand)
8. Brian (Wellington, New Zealand)
9. Wardi (Bali, Indonesia)
10. Rike (Oslo, Norway)
11. Daphne and Alex (Milan, Italy)

As for hosting, I started in April 2010 and so far I've had the pleasure of hosting these lucky few:

1. Danni and Mathew (New Zealand)
2. Danny (USA)
3. Mara and Harry (Austria)
4. Anna (USA)
5. Anna and Jason (Coonabarabran, Australia - I just love that name :D)
6. Tiina (Finnland)
7. Erin (Australia)
8. Noora (Finnland)
9. Ankit (India)
10. Sabine and Isabel (Germany)
11. James and Urmi (Australia).
12. Katherine (Germany)
13. Yevro (Germany)
14. Marta, Monika and Alicja (Poland)
15. Aglaia and Anna (Austria)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snowboarded down Mt Ngauruhoe (aka Mt Doom)
Black Rafting
Ice Climbing in a Glacier

In summary, visited New Zealand!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to say "I don't speak _language_" in all the european _languages_ (sorry, too big a world). I'm up to 21, last time I checked! And I guess I can teach that to other people as well.
