About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Brazilian Zouk Dance and pursuing my passion of being a therapist for artists specifically.

ABOUT ME

Burningman 2011, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18 ...and probably off and on for the rest of my life. I'm a community organizer at Burning Man for my camp of 100, Havana Nights. I'm a pretty big festival junkie (Bonnaroo, Atlin Music Fest...any salsa or Zouk festival I can get my hands on). I love music. We all love it. Music fuels our souls...connects us when borders, time and distance don't. Finding new music is like finding a piece of your soul that needed some attention. I love it.

I'm a performer..a zouk dancer and instructor but I also love bachata, kizomba, zouk, soca, reggae...etc:)

I'm also a Social Worker, an activist and a community developer. I've worked with refugees, immigrants, women and the homeless/ addicted population at home and abroad. Right now I'm an advocate in Cleveland:)

I will try pretty much anything when it comes to extreme sports. I've been bungee jumping, cliff diving, rock climbing, bouldering, white water rafting, kayaking...etc. I love roller blading, especially by big bodies of water. There's something about those two things together:)

PHILOSOPHY

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
-Margaret Mead

"Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change."
-Brene Brown

"Travelling is about getting unstranded. It's about going to the ends of the earth and the edges of experience in order to see ones self for the first time"
-Michael Crichton.

"I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world"
-Mary Anne Radmacher

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to a Roma camp (gypsy camp) and it was definitely one of those life defining moments. It's just amazing to me how some people have next to nothing but are willing to give everything. I have never felt so welcome in my entire life. I didn't even speak the same language as the residents and they treated me like family. I could talk for days about the Roma...

Teach, Learn, Share

You'll probably end up learning how to 6 step, 4 step, 2 step, salsa or all or the above. We'll share stories over many cups of coffee/tea/ or beer/wine or tequila I'm sure ...haha ok maybe not cups of tequila but we'll have to find a happy medium.
