ABOUT ME

I am easy to get on with normally. I like to have people around me, loneliness I like only when chosen. That`s why I have been living in shared flats for the last 15 years.
I believe less is more in many aspects of life- quality nearly ever beats quantity. For me this means to concentrate on few things (friends, events etc). I like slowness altough I am able to keep up with quickness.
I detest every kind of racism and I fight it wherever I face it. I am bad at small talk but I have accepted it as a door opener to deeper discussion.
I like to see my problems from the global view which let them appaear tiny. Nevertheless, I don`t try to minimize other people´s worries.
I like music very much that goes either in my heart or my feet.
I feel privileged by having 3 sibblings.
Being vegetarian is an important part of me and enables me to have an unspoilt relationship to animals. Grown up between carnivors I am very tolerant and don`t insist on my own kitchen equipment. I like cooking altough I must confess the results are sometimes suitable only for insiders.
I have been wandering around the last 7 years and changed my home very often. I have lived and worked in Germany (Jena, Weimar, Berlin) and for a short period in Rome and LA. Now I decided to try life in Switzerland.

Update September 2013: I quit my job and will fulfill a long-cherished dream- I am going to travel starting September 2013 as long as my savings or my wanderlust will take me. I found a great travel partner, Robert, and he will join me on my trip to Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama and Brazil.

Update June 2014: I fell in love with Rio de Janeiro, with this beautiful city itself, with its music, the sound of the language and the great people living there. Therefore, I am going to move to Rio de Janeiro.

Update March 2016: I am moving back to my favorite place- Berlin. See you there!

Update September 2017: Yeah, I now have my own house in Rio de Janeiro!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, I surf and I get in contact with the local groups when travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had only good experiences and I would say that the possibilities CS offer, make the difference between staying a visitor and getting involved.
I hosted two turkish guys in Berlin unfortunately only for one night. I met a couple of couchsurfers in Sicily who showed us around. I hosted Anna in Graz while she was attending a impro theatre workshop.
I was hosted by Radim in Litomerice(Czech Republic), by Don in the Californian Desert and by Michelle in Santa Barbara. In Santa Barbara I also met Gerhart who showed me around.
I am a regular guest of the homeless veggie dinners in Berlin organized by my Italian teacher Adam who introduced me to the idea of couchsurfing and filled me with his enthusiasm.

Interests

I am interested in human relations. I want a better understanding of what´s going on in my city, my country, my world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island.
I "rescued" a dog from Greece and enjoy its company so much.
I tried surfing in Malibu.
I quit my job and went on a still ongoing journey.
