Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host. I gather. I travel. Rinse and repeat. Also available for translation, orienting in the city, and depending on time other more technical tasks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I grew up with a family used to receiving people over.
As a refugee and immigrant we lived in several countries.
In university I shared space with many people; learned more of civilization and its discontents.
I traveled with the support of buddhist friends to visit various meditation centers.
Most hosting was through friends; I've been hosting friends of friends before CS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited a fair number of countries and places.
Mostly intimate discovery/eureka moments, especially when learning languages and making new acquaintances. I suppose falling in love is always amazing :)

- some about philosphy, cultural critique, political analysis ... the life of the mind
- some about meditation, buddhism, tarots, and alternative ways to use the mind
