About Me

I'm a techie/UX designer/foodie living in Paris. Generally interested in the internet/the early web, languages, cosmology, music and food.

I'm originally from Nepal and have since lived in the US and in France, with two summers in China in between. My three main motivations to want to travel are: the people, the food and the beer. Ideally all together!

I haven't been traveling solo too much lately, but I'm thinking of starting again. The last time I surfed—my only time, come to think of it—was in Scandinavian and I'm still friends with my host.

I used to host a lot more back when I was living in a small town in the US but living spaces tend to be a bit smaller in Paris. Thinking of starting sometime in September 2016, though, since I now have enough space/extra couch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Same as you, to meet new people and learn about different cultures. And try beers from all over the world ;)

Interests

I'm curious about most things. If you're really into something—I don't know, could be string theory, or programming, or internet security, or philosophy, or biking, or Buddhism, or traveling—I'd love to hear about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Calvin & Hobbes, Carl Sagan's 'Cosmos', Robert Ludlum's 'Bourne' series, Stieg Larsson's Millenium series, Astérix & Obélix, Calvin & Hobbes, René Barjavel's 'Ravage', Karna Sakya's 'Paradise in our Backyard', Andy Weir's 'The Martian'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying in a wind tunnel in Shanghai at the Latvian pavilion at the World Expo. This taught me two things: (i) flying is absolutely not what you imagine it to be (it's better!) (ii) I don't make a very good bird.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you anything I know anything about, and you could do the same.
