ABOUT ME
I like experiencing things. I love to meet people and have a wide variety of friends. People who are different are intriguing. There is so much in the world and I would like to know many pieces of it. I like the warmth of people.
I'm a PhD student in city & regional planning, though I'd say my interests are more sociology and public policy related. I am interested in social equity, housing, how structures, institutions, and regulations affect people differently, and how communication and identification effect economically-driven issues. I adore epistemology and its methodological implications, but I am far from an expert. I am a dork. I used to be an engineer, or got a degree in it anyway, but shifted away from it.
I moved to Dresden at the beginning of this year, before that I was in Columbus, Ohio for a long time and grew up in upstate New York before that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to CS, and have learned about it from my roommates. At the moment I would mostly like to participate by being hosted, and see how it works a bit more. Hosting is possible, though we don't really have a great couch at the moment. But, hey, if you aren't used to pampered sleeping arrangements, maybe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nothing formal yet, though I've slept on a lot of couches (friends and friends of friends). When I lived in Ohio I would rather excitedly host last minute guests--again, friends and friends of friends, no CS-type organization experience.
Interests
I am a bit wacky, and get rather excited about idiosyncratic things. I like walking, cooking, looking, eating, beer, knitting, reading, talking (rather a bit), learning, thinking, reflecting, doing too much, sleeping in, things different from me, experiencing, autumn, handcrafts, playing with colors and shapes, juxtaposition, words, language, wordplay, trains, last-minute decisions, sass.
