ABOUT ME

I am Zach Dean! And if you read the rest you'll get an idea of "who" I am. But always know that description only leads to boxes and I'm not a boxes kind of guy.

PHILOSOPHY

Love, compassion, healing and leading. I don't always live up to these but I try everyday and try not to sweat the "failures". I think that we can build a world where everyone feels connected to everyone else. Where compassion and care for others is the main concern of all people. That we can move away from a material minded world and into one of global community and mutual love and respect.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ok so I am initially here to find some places to rest my head on my walk to Iowa. However this also fits into a passion if mine to create a world of community and love. I will, as a walker, give as much of myself as I can and as much as is asked of me. I truly enjoy getting to know new people and love to share meaningful ideas and experiences with anyone interested. I see this as an opportunity to get people engaged in the idea and possibly involved in the "work" of creating a world community of acknowledgement, love and sharing. And that's pretty sweet!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

...hmmm...I have crashed on may a friends couch. Usually enjoyable except there are some couches you just can't get comfortable on and you spend the whole night tossing. Wake up all groggy and like "ARGH! Morning!"...no good no good at all. But other times you spend most of the night talking and laughing and you almost don't want to go to sleep. And you have to convince yourself to do so knowing that the people your talking to will actually be there in the morning to pick up the conversation again. And those sleeps the ones where you drift off thinking how great it is to be alive! Those are the absolute best!

Interessi

I love walking around. Drawing and painting whatever tickles my fancy at the time. Writing poetry, comic books, stream of consciousness stuff, I'm slowly, and I mean SLOWLY, writing an "epic" story. I love love love to dance. I love helping people out as much as I can. I really enjoy a good massage both giving and receiving. I love talking to people about health and sharing new info with them and learning something for myself also.

Top 5 Movies: Big Lebowski, Ghostbusters, Big Fish, Fifth Element, Serenity...right now anyway. Other movies: Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Iron Man, Kick Ass, Incredible Hulk, Dazed and Confused, Waking Life, The Goonies, LOTR, most of Kevin Smith's movies and lots more. Music: T.v. on the Radio, the Roots, Vampire Weekend, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Aesop Rock, RHCP, The Beatles and again loads more!!! Books: To many to name but Top 5 "books": Fables, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy, Y The Last Man, The Thursday Next books, Bangkok 8...many others!

Teach: I am a certified massage therapist so I could teach you some massage moves. I have been drawing and painting for over 15 years so I could assist you in seeing your artistic potential. Learn: I would love to learn to sew, silk screen, dance(like swing, salsa, tango, waltz...stuff like that.) Share: I have plenty of knowledge that is random and slightly obscure mostly pertaining to comic books and "nerdy" stuff like that. But I also have my heart to share...I love sharing about anything really.
