About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, one story at a time (Do any of these not sound cheesy)

ABOUT ME

I have been fortunate to grow up traveling. Because of my fathers job my childhood was spent moving and traveling through Asia, Europe and Australia.

I am an unusual mix (well my mum calls me special!) as I planned on having a career being a professional Rugby player, spent 8 years playing the Cello, studied art and history and was offerd a ballet schollarship.

And once I finished University I planned on having a few months off to see a bit of the world before starting a job. Those few months ended up being over a decade living and working in England and America.

The last few years have been spent in Melbourne working. I realised that doing the normal grind, buying a house working 9-5 and so on for the next 30 plus years had no appeal to me. I wanted more from life, I wanted to experience everything I could. So I quit my job bought a one way ticket to Tokyo and will spend the next 18 month doing all the things I have wanted to do.

I believe that it is the people you meet on your travels that make the experience.

I have recently returned from almost 20 months of traveling and am just adjusting to being home. I think I will hang around until the middle of the year before heading off again. But until then please dont hesitate to contact me if you would like some one to chat to or show you around Melbourne.

PHILOSOPHY

This one by Mark Twain really struck a chord with me.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Music, Movies, and Books

Thomas Crown Affair (remake), The Italian Job (original), How to Steal a Million, Charade. I think there is a theme here and it may have something to do with my convict roots...

The Killers, Vocal Trance, New Order, Simon & Garfunkel, any thing that puts a smile on your face and gets your feet tapping

Hmm I am reading a David Eddings book at the moment that I have not read since I was 14, guess I am reliving my youth ha ha ha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thats a tough one.

For me it was getting up early before the sun came up, taking the surf board out and being out on the water watching the sun come up. I just remember findig myself with the biggest grin on my face.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach obscure English history, the sort of stuff that would have made it in OK magazine.

I can talk about growing up in unusual places, some times I am amazed I am still in one piece

Used to be a life guard so I can teach swimming
