About Me

[ I've changed my availability for now - I'm off traveling soon and won't be hosting before December (and my availability is going to be limited then too!) but feel free to message me, ask me for recommendations or anything else ]

I've become more confident and outgoing over the years (much of which is thanks to CS) so I like to keep busy and try new things. I'm a yes man and a generally positive and optimistic guy.

I'm an empath. I can be silly around silly people and quiet around quiet people, but I'm more likely to ramble on than let there be an awkward silence.

I enjoy quiet nights, good conversation, trivia nights and movies during the week, but I'll have a hard time saying no if you want to go out and party... weekends are usually spent with friends but where we end up could be anyones guess.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're not happy... change something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love trying new things and hate turning down an offer to get up and go somewhere. I try to find a balance between work, and life and hosting.

I've been here for a long time... I started to host when I could and I'm hoping to continue that as I settle into a new city. I became quite involved (and maybe even well known) in the local CS community in my home town and I hope to do the same now and help stimulate the community in Edinburgh.

I have an interest in language and love to learn local colloquialisms and discover the things that I say that just confuse couchsurfers.

I've hosted a lot and I'm trying to travel just as much over the next couple of years.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty open to anything... but if you want favourites, I like Time-based and/or Time Travel movies. Eternal sunshine, Back to the Future, Butterfly Effect...

I like good TV and silly TV. Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Arrow, House, Community, Walking Dead...

I have a horrible attention span, so I'm technically still reading the millennium trilogy, several Nick Hornby books, Jeff Lindsays Dexter books, the Game of Thrones books, several Arthur Conan Doyle works...

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh where to begin... let's ignore the geeky computer stuff I can bore you with... I can teach you to make Irish stew, sushi, or some great mulligatawny soup. I can teach you 'Northern Irish'. I can teach you some swing or how to juggle... I can show you were all the best bars are...
