ABOUT ME

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend. I am a Christian but do not wish to force my views on others. My husband and I love to listen to good music of all types, enjoy conversation, good food/wine and people! I like harmony, new things, art, music, wish to travel and see many places. Alas, my husband has travelled quite a bit through his work...so when he gets to a destination he wants to stay put! I want to trek all over the countryside!

PHILOSOPHY

Don't sweat the small stuff. Laugh at adversity....because it is ALWAYS SOMETHING! (as the late Gilda Radner always said) Live in harmony, don't be a hater. Try to think of those who have less and try to value what you have...share with those in need. No matter how little you have, you can always share with somebody who has less. Thank God for all you are and all you have.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not yet used CS, but really enjoy reading various hosts' profiles and dreaming about the opportunity to travel and experience other cultures!! So, with an empty room or two, and a daughter living abroad, I am ready to launch myself (and my unwitting spouse) into the world of CouchSurfing!

Have not 'surfed' but met up with a member for coffee and socializing!

Interests

My husband loves to play his guitar - the blues in particular. Don't worry - he isn't a 'performer'. He loves golf, riding his motorcycle, skiing, drinking wine, entertaining, dancing - enjoying life! I am basically interested in art, music, gardening, jewelry making, skiing, dancing, world cultures, trying different foods, etc. I have many interests, which can stop one from becoming a master of any :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Phew, this is a hard one...there are so many! Movies - love foreign films, especially about India. Books: The Poisonwood Bible, Memoirs of a Geisha, Space Between Us, A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, The Border Trilogy by Cormac McCarthy.
Music - I tend to like the music that is current like the Jack Johnson, The Ting Tings, Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon, but still like the music of my era and those before mine....to stand still is to become stagnant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have witnessed both birth and death. I have never felt the presence of the Lord more intensely than at these times. Truly spiritual experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing friendship, wine, hospitality, learning about other cultures from visitors, offering guidance in the area - Rock Hall of Fame, museums, gardens, hiking/biking, whatever you like... We have Lake Erie, beautiful fall colors, a National Recreation Area nearby with deer grazing in fields and sometimes in your backyard! There is quite a bit of history here in town, with John Brown's house that was a stop on the underground railroad. Kent State University is also nearby as well as many other universities.
