About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn Swedish and Japanese and find out what exactly the Big Whoop is.

ABOUT ME

I'm a enthusiastic young'un with a headful of creative thoughts, influences and a strong, burning desire to be out and about in the world. Preferably now or as soon as possible. I aim to always make people smile, look on the bright side of life and be as positive as much as I can. Apparently I may seem shy at first but I'm an outgoing individual who wants to grow; if I do appear shy at first meet, I want to change that first impression.

I'm a creative person who finds great joy in expressing myself, either through written words (stories and such), film making and even a tiny, little bit of music making (although I'm not the best at it. I can't even play an instrument. I compose using a computer and creating beats and melodies through that). I love almost anything out of the ordinary and find myself drawn to inventive and daring artists who always try and create something different, regardless of whether or not it works out. Similarly, I find myself drawn to Non-English speaking films for their cultural differences to my own, and for providing me with a context and interest in world situations.

I laugh, I smile, I enjoy myself as much as possible and I'm always looking for new people to meet and party with. I always, always want to be at a party.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is what you make of it. I don't believe in any particular religion as I feel it restricts the way I want to live and determines how I should live my life as well. For me life has no meaning, which I find to be incredibly refreshing as it allows me experience it the way I want.

I don't believe in the phrase "treat other people as you would like to be treated" as I think it's foolish to visit another country and expect that their culture, values and society function the same as your own. What is one man's kindness could very well be another's rudeness. I try to adapt to the people around me and experience things from their perspective.

I live for adventure, good company, challenges, laughter, love and people. Always people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed with a whole heap of amazingly varied and friendly people in Europe. I'm just as excited to be heading home and offering my place to people in return!

The dream is also to find another couchsurfer in Melbourne and live with them for a while hosting others of course.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Countless good experiences. Traveling throughout Scandinavia blessed me with innumerable good experiences and I ended up staying far longer in Europe than originally anticipated I believe that's the biggest surprise I've had doing this; that I would end up staying in a whole new country with a new group of friends, extending my trip for who knows how long.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a fair few sights and sounds on my trip to California in the US including Las Vegas, Death Valley, The Grand Canyon, The Key Islands in Florida but for me, the most amazing experience I've had in my lifetime was the time spent studying in an American campus: California State University, Long Beach. I made countless friends, some who I know will remain in contact with, learnt new things about myself, my studies and interests and that I was capable of much more things then I originally knew or thought about.

It was a life changing experience.

I also miraculously managed to survive Love Parade 2010...

Teach, Learn, Share

Travel! I'm guessing that most people here have either travelled already or have joined up here to begin with so that they can travel, but you're already off on your first step. It's the single greatest experience of your life to go traveling. You learn new things about yourself, your personality grows, your people skills grow and you get to see and experience other culture's firsthand. There's nothing more exciting or exhilarating in my opinion.

Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
