About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding balance and readjusting to life in the US!

ABOUT ME

I just finished backpacking for 16 months around the world. I am from Raleigh, NC and work as an occupational therapist. I quit my job to travel and now I am back in Raleigh adjusting to life in the US and working again. I love meeting new people, traveling, and am always open to new adventures! I am very easy-going and open-minded and have a passion for experiencing different cultures and going deeper than the surface of just doing the touristy things, which is why I love Couchsurfing.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to experience as much as I can and meet as many people as I can before I leave this earth! I try not to take life too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am finally able to host now that I'm back in the US!

I frequently meet up with CSers and have surfed in the US and in Europe multiple times, the Middle East, SE Asia, Japan and Ecuador.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed numerous times while backpacking in Europe, once in Japan, and various times in the U.S. while on a road trip. I always try and take advantage of the "Coffee or a Drink" to meet locals wherever I am!

Interests

Meeting new people, traveling, cooking and trying new recipes, boating, swimming, scuba diving, hiking, art, concerts, trying new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost all types of music. Some recent book favorites include: Revolution 2.0 by Wael Gohnim, Bossypants by Tina Fey, and From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas L. Friedman.

2 great travel books I can recommend:
- Tales of a Female Nomad by Rita Golden Gelman
- The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner

I'm a huge fan of The Daily Show With John Stewart and The Colbert Report. I love The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Weeds, Dexter, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went scuba diving in a shipwreck 108 ft. below (About 35 meters), drove 125 mph on the autobahn, partied at Oktoberfest, quit my job and traveled for 16 months with only a 36 L backpack

What I Can Share with Hosts
