About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Mastering the art of fiction (haha)
ABOUT ME
"I write out of a greed for lives and language. A need to listen to the orchestra of living" --Barry Hannah
Currently finishing a Master's of FIne Arts degree in fiction writing because I love language. I would eat words if I didn't have to spit them out.
Otherwise, I'm a junkie for movies, books, comic books, good chocolate, baked bread, coffee, traveling, relaxing, and all the other usual suspects...
PHILOSOPHY
"The day is short, the labor vast, the workers lazy, the reward great, the Master urgent"
"The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the object it loves" --Carl Jung
"Interpret rest not as doing nothing but as doing something but something that is different" --Virginia Woolf
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfed in Germany last year (amazing!). Life has finally slowed enough for me to start hosting surfers of my own!
I'm eager to partake in rich experiences with people from other cultures and those similarly excited to revel in laughter, understanding, and fellowship in a world vastly indifferent to all of the above.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My time couchsurfing in Europe was incredible. A gift I never have to return. I want to give others the same amazing experience my hosts gave to me.
Some of my best friends and closest relationships in the past have come from offering my couch and enjoying the same experience with strangers—it helped work in ways no other social lubricant can! You get to know so much about someone else by sharing spaces, which is something I'm stoked to do via CouchSurfing.
Interests
I divide my time between tennis and racquetball and am thus mediocre in both.
The same applies to my German and Turkish studies, unfortunately...
I have an age old love for comic books (graphic novels, if you prefer).
Conversation is among my favorite activities—I could chat for hours if the person I'm chatting with is up for the task, or until the conversation loses steam. Talking is great!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bryce canyon in Utah may be the greatest natural spectacle of all time—I see it in person as often as I'm able.
Teach, Learn, Share
Lessons on the unreliable narrator in online profile construction.
I do teach English with some success.
Can anyone help me continue to learn German? I'm serious. (Können Sie mich Deutsche helfen learnen?)
(Or Turkish, for that matter?)
