I'm a musical, writing, photographing, vegetarian socially-conscious Englishman traveling the whole way round the world in an environmentally-friendly way, learning as I go. I've been travelling in the USA, Latin America and the Pacific since January 2010

ABOUT ME

Musician, writer, photographer, environmental and social thinker and campaigner. Great vegetarian cook :-) I'm politically progressive and open-minded and I care about the environment - I arrived in America by ship, lived in New York City for the first three months of my travels, stayed in Chicago and then roadtripped to San Francisco. After that I travelled down through The Bahamas and Cuba to Guatemala and on down Central America, across from Panamá to Colombia by sail boat. I've spent a year and a half traveling around South America and then four months between islands in the Pacific on a sailboat, before arriving in New Zealand I've got a personal website with photos from my travels, my writing, & all of my links at www.mattwootton.com.I blog about the political issues I find on my travels at www.dailyplanet.org.ukI'm posting my adventures daily on Twitter at www.twitter.com/mattwootton

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really appreciate all the many many people I've met through CS. I aim to be a courteous and considerate guest, and when I get back to England to be a generous host! I've met people just socially as well, and it's always been a great experience and a laugh!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met Couchsurfers all around the USA, the Caribbean, Central and South America, even in Cuba. I've stayed with many hosts (over 40?), hosted myself when I could, and travelled with Couchsurfers. I'm hoping that Couchsurfing can bring new friendships and new learning!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before this big journey I travelled in South Africa (twice), Thailand, Poland, the Czech Republic, and generally in Europe. I also went to California and the west of America.. and to Florida. Alot. We always used to go to Disney World in Florida as kids... thankfully no more...! My style of travelling now is independent, people-focussed, political and historical, pro-environment, anti-corporate, anti-tourism, pro-learning and pro-wonder!visited 41 states (18.2%)Create your own visited map of The World

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a trained classical musician (cello, piano and singing), and an experienced communicator and arts marketer. I have expertise in online campaigning, press work and publications, and I am currently writing a book as I travel about moral and political values.I have a CELTA qualification in teaching English as a foreign language.
