Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Like all of you, I love traveling; meeting weird and wonderful people and discovering every country's favourite beer! Whenever possible, I travel specifically for big sporting events, so I'm always up for a football (soccer), rugby, cricket or tennis game or chat.

When hosting, I'll offer you advice on what to see and do in Cape Town and South Africa. I've seen most of this beautiful country and have been living in Cape Town since 2004. All I ask is that travelers do a little bit of research about the history of SA before arriving here. There's nothing that irritates me more than an ignorant traveler.

Also, please note that I am not a tour guide or cab driver. I'll tell you the easiest and cheapest ways to get around to the things you want to do, but can't be by your side 24/7 showing you around. Cape Town is easy and beautiful enough to enjoy on your own or with other travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first 2 years involved a lot of hosting and heavy involvement in Cape Town's CS Community activities.

With age and responsibilities, I've slowed down a bit to less physical involvement but giving as much advice to tourist online as possible.
