ABOUT ME

I like food. I am passionately interested in food, both its flavors and colors. Using fresh, local or humanely produced ingredients excites me. Finding use for ingredients most people throw away. Eating food. Sharing it. Around a table, or a fire, or on top of a mountain. Wherever. The ceremony of food sharing.

I like to garden and grow food and preserve it. I try to share my knowledge of these skills with anyone that is willing to listen. I manage a community garden and work at a school for deaf and blind children, teaching them to garden and prepare food.

I like colors. My understanding of colors began with fabrics and human-made objects. Over the past years, I have begun exploring the origins of these colors in nature and how I can use plants to make these colors longer lasting on fabrics.

I like to dance. Music is constantly moving me, whether its in my head, from a speaker, a voice or an instrument.

I like to bike around, gather with friends. Create space for people to gather in, share food and listen to music --- I HOST HOUSE SHOWS (bands, message me and I would be happy to host y'all!!)

PHILOSOPHY

Joy is all around us. but we have to make the CHOICE to see it, to feel it and to spread it. Happiness isnt something you find but something you create.

I have spent many a night on couches around the world, and I have found some of them from the couchsurfing network.

Interests

Mother nature and her beauty. Romping around all over it, by foot or 2-wheels (hiking and biking!!).
Live music!! So much, whatever is being played.
Reading - mostly non-fiction, food politics, memoirs, social theories and cultural analyses.
Yoga, stretching...mostly outside of a studio. Wherever I am. Intergrating stretch and yoga into our daily actvity and mindspace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did a 12 hour hike to a glacier in El Chalten, Patagonia, Argentina where I ate an avocado and onion sandwich. Sitting on a glacier. With the fitz roy mountaing staring at me, and me staring at her.
