About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as far and as wide as possible, and eat and drink everything in between.

ABOUT ME

Summing myself up into a paragraph always proves difficult, but I'll try anyway. I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY (the SECOND biggest city in New York State!) While I certainly have a healthy dose of hometown pride, I moved to New York City in 2005 to pursue dreams of working in the entertainment industry. In the years since moving to the Big Apple, I've had the time of my life. I have stories to fill a book of experiences working in the restaurant business, trying to find acting work, struggling to pay rent each month, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old friends, and generally just getting to know and fall in love with New York City.

I'm a laid back, easy going kind of guy. If I'm surrounded by good friends, with good food and beer, I'm more than likely as happy as a pig in sh*t. I'm also what you might call a "beer nerd." Be prepared to be schooled (or bored) on the amazing craft beer community that has bloomed in the US over the last decade or 2. I promise you I will introduce you to at least one beer that you've never had that you will like. I'm also a homebrewer, so depending on when you stay, I might just have some homemade beer for you to try!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a host, I try to be more than just the guy who lets you in when you arrive. Sleeping in someone's house is far more intimate than staying at a hotel or hostel, and I treat it as such. During your stay I want to get to know you a little. Converse, swap stories, go out for a drink, or share a meal. For me, the rewarding part of couchsurfing is in feeling like you made someone's stay just a little bit better, and in turn enriched your own life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I discovered couchsurfing.org through my girlfriend (RAINA-HELEN) and began hosting in April, 2010. In that time, I've hosted surfers from Germany, France, the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Hungary, Russia, Spain, Poland, Austria, Venezuala, Argentina, Brazil, Sweden, Italy, Moldova, Portugal, Uruguay, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Netherlands. Despite the large number of surfers who've stayed with me, I've had nothing but positive experiences. I've enjoyed getting to share a little bit of so many different people's trips!

Navigating the curves of Corsica's crazy dangerous mountain roads in a rented Peugeot for 3 days, having no idea where we'd stay each night.

Teach, Learn, Share

Be an active host. Much of the reward of being a host comes from the feeling that you're providing a service that helps foster positive energy. By displaying diplomacy, hospitality, and friendship, you're brightening someone's trip and conjuring up some good karma that ultimately makes the world a better place.
