About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see what is out there

ABOUT ME

Short version:A few months ago I was not happy and when I looked at my life I saw nothing but negatives. So I decided that I would take all of those negatives and make them into positives. So I quit my job and moved out of my place and decided to hit the road to see what is out there. I decided that I wanted to find out what makes me happy, what will give passion to my life.
I am getting more and more excited about couch surfing. When I first hit the road, I wanted to see all of the places that I have never been but I really wanted to meet people from those places. Places are nice but it is the people in those places that make the difference. Couch surfing lets me do that. It provides an aspect of my traveling that staying in a hotel or sleeping in my car does not provide. It brings those areas to life. I hope that I can meet some really cool people in some nice locales.

PHILOSOPHY

When my time is done, I do not want to have left anything on the table.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I am doing only traveling right now all I can do is surf. But the more that I learn about Couch Surfing the more excited I am becoming and I hope that when I stop traveling I can return the favor. I hope that I can still meet new people and to show them my world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

I love learning. Drop in a museum or in a conversation with someone new, and I am happy. There are so many things out there that I have not seen or experienced that I want to see and do as much as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I generally do not read fiction but if I do it needs to be worth my while. When I am no longer constantly moving around and can take the time to read I would like to read things like Milton, Virgil, Cervantes...things like that. I absolutely love John Steinbeck. Sure some of the stuff that he writes, he swings and misses on but when it he hits it right, boy does he hit it right. Other than that my reading tastes run more to dry historical non-fiction. I know, exciting isn't it?
Music: Basically mainstream. Not like American Idol mainstream (how horrible). But nothing "esoteric" like an unheard of Norwegian band that plays only instruments with their toes. Basically alternative, classic rock, original R&B (think Al Green, Aretha Franklin..., classic jazz/soul (Ella Fitzgerald...)
I do hate country and some rap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What I am doing right now. I walked away from a life that did not make me happy, a life that did not feel right for me with the hopes of finding what is right for me. With the hopes of finding...me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn: how to let go and embrace life. Relax. To see what is there. What life has to offer. Anything that I did not know before.
Teach: Cooking, living a healthy lifestyle. I hope to be able to pass on things that I have learned in my travels.
