ABOUT ME

I am a simple guy with a simple past and simple plans for the future, simply wishing to make my way in this not-so-simple world, being sure to leave it in better shape than I found it in. I like CHINESE and meditation and theatre and writing and generally being a dorky nerd-face. I think that pretty much sums me up.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend toward Buddhist philosophy: everything is empty and fleeting, but that's not a bad thing. No, not in the least. That's reality. There is no you or I: we're just collections of habits, so we might as well make those good habits.
I practice loving kindness meditation everyday: "May all beings be happy, be peaceful, be liberated... If anyone has hurt or harmed me, knowingly or unknowingly, I pardon them, likewise, I seek pardon for any I have hurt or harmed. All are my friends... none is my enemy..."
Try doing that every day for five minutes in the morning and five minutes in the evening and see what kind of person you become...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was haring around SE Asia and inviting people to come out to chill with me, but only a few deigned to respond. I guess I'm not "cool" enough to merit a simple response to my requests, but oh well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once, I met a whole lot of friends who told me of a website so positively corking that I had to get involved. That site was called "Couchsurfing", and I'm still wondering what all the fuss is about.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really have much taste for movies these days. They strike me as being nothing but a bunch of meretricious bulljive.
I like any kind of music you can throw at me that's not pop. I hate to sound like a hipster but... No, forget it. I wouldn't want to take that risk.
Right now I'm reading Sherlock Holmes in English and The Way of The Peaceful Warrior in Chinese

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, basic level Spanish or Chinese.
I can stir fry vegetables.
I could possibly teach some pretty cool dance moves.
I can teach Anapanasati (meditation).
That's about it. I guess I ain't the world's greatest teacher.
