ABOUT ME

ROOM FOR RENT: We have a room for rent, between end of November to early March. Furnished. Message if you are interested :)

Hi there! We are BIG CouchSurfing fans, and have had so much fun and great experiences thanks to the amazing people we have met through this website.

Anika - I'm 25, and work as an Agribusiness Officer. I love to travel and be immersed in new cultures and customs. There is so much of the world to explore, and I grab every opportunity to see something new. I love the outdoors, getting my hands dirty, and helping out where I can. I also enjoy painting, horse riding and listening to live music.

Corey - I'm 25, I am a qualified in the Pre-Press Trade, and undergoing a Certificate In Fitness. I recently started a new career as an Agricultural Mechanic, working on some really big machines. I have an interest for cars, music and love to get out with friends and enjoy the great outdoors. I play guitar, try to sing, and ride motorbikes. I enjoy keeping active and meeting new people.

We both love camping, have a great sense of humor and enjoy the odd competitive cook-offs in the kitchen.

PHILOSOPHY

Make the most of every single day.

Picking up your bags and deciding to explore the world, may be a challenging thing to do, but it can also be the most rewarding. We have met so many new friends and learnt an abundant amount about other countries, and Couchsurfing has really helped with that. We think it is important to keep an open mind, look fear in the eye, and try to experience anything and everything at least once.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We want to make new friends, educate people on the Australian bush life, make the world a smaller and friendly place......we could even show you how to cook a traditional Aussie steak!
We've couchsurfed across Canada and America, and have had multiple people stay with us in Oz. We have met the most amazing people through this site, and love the idea of meeting or helping a fellow traveller. We hope to host many more people, and spend more nights on a couch in a far off distant land.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Simply wonderful! Met some great people and made many friends. It is hard to imagine a better way to travel! We now recommend CS to everyone (and although we get alot of weird looks) it definitely is the best way to do it!

It is so nice to meet people from all parts of the world, who share similar interests in traveling and have a desire to support a fellow traveler. We have made so many friends that we hope to stay in touch with for a long time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Heart racing movies, mesmerizing books, and relaxing music. We have very diverse tastes, and are always open to listening to a new band, reading from a new authour, and watching a movie that we've never heard of. To just name a few movies, books and music:

Movies: Slumdog Millionaire, Flight of the Conchords, Into the Wild, Entourage

Books: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Kite Runner, Eat Pray Love, Into The Wild, A Short History of Everything

Music: Beach Boys, Coheed and Cambria, The Cops, Jack Johnston, Mumford and Sons, Phil Collins, Seal

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Corey: I have done a 140 metre bungee jump. Spent 2 nights on a boat in the amazing Halong Bay, Vietnam.
Anika: Seeing the Egyptian Pyramids was an incredible experience. Working in Ghana, Africa for 3 months- here I had to eat a giant jungle snail... and I didn't realize what it was until after I had finished my meal.
We left our jobs and the comfort of home, flew to the opposite side of the world, bought the cheapest car we could find, camped in the wilderness, bathed in freezing glacier rivers, picked up a hickhiker, ran AFTER a bear... and the rest you will have to ask us in person.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things that we can teach (but may not be so easy without the right props): Horse riding, motorbike riding, shearing sheep, how to speak Aussie, how to wrestle a crocodile, how to use Photoshop and Indesign, how to play guitar, how to sing the Australian Anthem... And we promise to try teach you other things if it means we score a couch!

Countries I’ve Visited
