About Me

CURRENT MISSION

No one is perfect – that’s why pencils have erasers.

ABOUT ME

I am just a small fish in the ocean called life! While I might not have the most glamorous life I try to make the most out of the cards I have been dealt. I believe everyone is put on this earth for a single purpose, while you might not know your purpose or ever truly find out what your purpose is I believe everyone has one. This being said I never waist an opportunity when it arises because it is these opportunities that allow us to grow as a person and learn things about ourselves and the people we are around that we might not have known otherwise.

I have lived in DC since summer of 2009 and this place is definitely a big change from my home state of Georgia, but I really like it here. I am always up for a good adventure and love being outside, and I will just about try anything once (as long as it is not illegal or could poke someone’s eye out =). I can always find something to do and I enjoy meeting people from other nationalities and backgrounds, because it helps me to realize truly how diverse our world really is.

As a person I tend to be very laid back, while I do have set goals and strive to reach them, I try not to let the stresses of day to day life get in my way. I spend a fair amount of my free time helping several non profits throughout the city, but the two biggest I work with would be WABA and Habitat for Humanity. I am always trying to lend a helping hand where I can and am willing to go out of my way for people because as John Ruskin said, “I believe the first test of a truly great man is his humility.”

PHILOSOPHY

Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing so I don’t have a lot of experiences to share but I hope that will change in the future

Interests

I love the great outdoors and all that nature has to offer. I believe that complex problems can be solved by simple solutions, and for me that solution is cycling. I absolutely love cycling and all it has to offer. I try to spend as much time on my bike as possible because when I am pedaling away, for that very short time all my problems tend to just melt away. Life is just so much simpler on a bike.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is always changing but here is a few bands I am really in to right now: Mutemath, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Bloc Party, Silversun Pickups, Muse, MGMT, Manchester Orchestra, Royksopp, Shiny Toy Guns, Passion Pit, Flaming Lips, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Gossip, The Postal Service, and Ting Tings

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the coolest things I have done with biked from upstate New York back down to Savannah, Georgia on a road bike with one of my best friends. We laughed, cried and even got chased by a bear, but in the end we had a blast an besides a few rips on the side of a saddle bag no one got harmed.
