About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Dance, floss, travel.

ABOUT ME

I'm somewhat deviant and easily excitable. I'm not typical, I'm not stationary, I'm not geeky or good at math. I'm a wanderer and I pride myself on being flexible and a willing participant in the game of life. I seek out intensity and I have a tendency to create Trouble (the good kind). I like surprises. I'm fiercely independent but loyal and honest to a fault. I love yoga, snowboarding, dancing, snorkelling; I love people, listening to their stories and sharing my own. I do my best to help others and be a conscious, sentient being on this planet.

I'm seeking the doers, the travellers, the eternally curious, the souls eager to abandon the bored safety of familiar territories and run headlong into the unknown. Looking for those willing to take uncertain roads, to cast their lives to chance, to crash against the world, moving forward never looking back. All you need is all you've got. Ready to collide, yearning to find something you never knew you were looking for ...

PHILOSOPHY

Explore! Getting lost is the best way to find yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed, I've hosted, I've attended parties and meet-ups. I recommend CS to those I feel would benefit from it and I write awesome references and vouch for those I feel deserve it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS is about establishing connections with people. It's about trust and the commitment to be open and treat others the way you would want to be treated.
I have been fortunate enough to meet so many amazing people along my travels and make life-long connections with people across the world that I never would have met if it wasn't for CS.

Interests

Sociology, story telling, music, festivals, yoga, food, snowboarding, sexuality ... lots of things ... Mostly, I'm interested in people and creating connections in this world. Oh and did I mention music and snowboarding?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hanging out in Pai in Northern Thailand I met a brother/sister team who owned a pad thai cart on the street. They welcomed me into their family, offered to let me stay in their home and taught me to cook the best pad thai I've ever had. They gave me the name SukJai which means 'happy heart' and even offered to drive me to the border for a visa run. Their kindness and warmth crossed all cultural boundaries.

Playing with an elephant in the river. She let me climb up her trunk and onto her back before shaking her head and tossing me back into the water. The sheer awesomeness of this experience does not translate to the page but you can see from my profile pic what I'm talking about.

Teach, Learn, Share

The key to happiness is single point focus of the mind. Quiet your mind, eliminate all thoughts except one and you will be happy. This is why activities like dancing, snowboarding, rock climbing, etc. make people happy. Oh and of course, meditation. I'm not good at meditating but I love snowboarding. Same same, just more expensive.
