About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Left the life of a grad student beekeeping and tapping maple trees for syrup on the side for a working life in Brooklyn! Brand new to the New York area!

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded quarter-life crisis survivor who has lived a nomadic life. Now, I find myself in Brooklyn. I'm enjoying life exploring my new home, volunteering, and talking to strangers.

I lead a pretty simple life of satiating my curiosity and just doing what makes me happy. I would love to travel more in general. Hopefully I can make that happen....

PHILOSOPHY

Try anything -even if it's disgusting like eating pig brain.
Life is about experiences! (FYI- The pig brain I ate was disgusting, but hey, now I know)

I do not know anything. I will be a student for life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted anyone because I have always lived with a lot of roommates. However, I did show people around DC pretty frequently (maybe one couchsurfer per month). I never got tired of accompanying couchsurfers to the tourist spots, but I also tried to take them to places not in guidebooks based on their personal interest. I love it! I cannot wait to live in a place that is conducive to hosting couchsurfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tried couchsurfing for the first time in late May/ early June 2010 at houses in San Diego, LA, and San Francisco during a coastal California trip. It was awesome to hang out with the hosts and other couchsurfers from the US and Europe staying there. At the end of the day, we got to recap the adventures each of us went on that day.
After that, I showed surfers around DC for a few years. In the fall, I switched gears from hosting to surfing in several cities along my Seattle to SF bike route. I forgot how much fun it is to couchsurf! Everyone has been so nice. I can't wait to meet more people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't like scary movies. I love any acoustic music.

Amelie is one of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I shaved my head as part of a fundraiser. It was awesome :)

I most recently rode a train for three days from DC to Seattle, biked from Seattle to San Francisco, and then hitched a ride from SF to LA

Teach, Learn, Share

I love baking, so I will make you something -most likely as a welcome gift if I host you, definitely as a thank you if you host me! A pretty postcard with a personalized thank you if I am feeling a bit less ambitious.

I have lots of random stories to share and would love to hear your stories as well. I guess I can help you practice a language or teach you how to make a book or knit if you really want.

Anything you'd love to share, I would love to be a part of it. I am just a curious girl.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter

My friend also shared a secret solution to stop sneezes when you feel one coming while you're sitting in a quiet room. It's pretty hilarious but it works!
