About Me

CURRENT MISSION

create and explore

ABOUT ME

I enjoy learning and engaging in each day. People that surround themselves with positivity inspire me, but I can draw inspiration from nearly anything. I am adventurous and intuitive; these characteristics have led me on many great adventures. I am grateful, also ready for what is to come!

There are endless adventures ahead!

Touring long distances is my current goal.
I love my bike- oh the places we will go!

PHILOSOPHY

Do. Don't Wait.

"Never hope more than you work"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It has been a good year since I had logged on, an update is necessary.I'm back because I am nearly done with my degree (Environmental Studies & Sustainability :: Art Minor) and ready to travel again. I am open to hosting the right people. I have roommates to keep into consideration and, while they are very friendly and giving, I respect their needs and wishes. I am cautious as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven' t used couchsurfing quite yet. I chose a different online travel community because of the opportunity to spend time and work with my host. I used the online network "Workaway"- www.workaway.info to connect with a wonderful family on the other side of the planet. I had a monumental trip to New Zealand and had the opportunity to live with and work for this gracious family. It was more wonderful than I could have hoped for. (Thanks Amanda!)

I would highly recommend workaway!
(I have since let my membership expire)

I have had a couple of touring bicyclists stay with me in Marquette!
SO FUN & SO INSPIRING

Music, Movies, and Books

I love ANY live music. For listening pleasure I have a huge range. I was (and am) a college radio DJ and have been exposed to so much music it seems unfair only naming a few here.
I'll mention my current music mind:
Bluegrass, Motown. Folky Girly Music; First Aid Kit, CocoRosie. I'm also diggin; Grimes, Lorde, and Banks. I love the classics; Neil Young, Led Zeppelin (who doesn't). I love Detroit Musicians; I am a huge Kid Rock fan, he puts on the best performances and has real Detroit pride. Rodriguez has been big for me long before I knew he was a Detroiter-- Thanks to my favorite movie 'Candy'

Neutral Milk Hotel is something I could listen to exclusively and still love.

Books;
The Brothers Karamazov (though I haven't read it in it's entirety, I feel I learn something from it every page).
Me, Who Dove Into the Heart of the World (beautiful)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've got stories, I'll save typing them for when I lay them down in
novel-form.

Teach, Learn, Share

Creativity, drive, and ingenuity are my skills to share: These don't seem like "teachable" things to most. I think that, with the right person leading, these can be picked up along the way. People inspire people. I am happy to inspire or teach directly (or merely by example).
