ABOUT ME

Been on the road and off-the-grid at large for the past many years.
I feel most at home in motion. Held together by forward momentum.
I love bearing witness to every kind of social dynamic.

Now I've finally settled down in Babylon to invest in my community and raise my daughter, Mafi Elza.

Few things are stronger than
The mind's need for diverse experience.
I am glad not many men or women can remain
Faithful lovers to the unreal.

There is a kind of adultery
That God encourages:

Your spirit needs to leave the bed
of fear.
The gross, the subtle, the mental worlds
Become as a worthless husband.

Women need to utilize their
superior intelligence about love.
So that their hour's legacy
can make us all stronger and more clement.

Sometimes a poem happens like this one:
The mule I sit on while I recite
Starts off in one direction
But then gets drunk
And lost in
Heaven.

PHILOSOPHY

I do not want to live out my life
in the strenuous effort to hold a ghost world together.
It is plain as the stars that time herself
moves in grand tidal sweeps
rather than the tick-tocks we suffocate within,
and that I must reshape myself
to fully inhabit the Earth
rather than dawdle
in the sump of my foibles.

It's been incredible! Couchsurfing has very, very seriously changed my life! It's a form of networking that has provided me with the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing people I've ever known! When I stop and think about how many of my friends I've met somehow through this site, I'm overwhelmed!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving birth to my daughter at home in the mountains. My sister; my dreadlocked midwife mamas; my doula; an all-white cat named Salmon; and a twenty-five foot yoni sculpture all brought Mafi Elza into the world.

Once, when wandering in the woods, I stumbled upon an old man who'd been living in a tire fortress of his own design for seventeen years. Car fenders and bumpers wedged in nooks and crannies with meticulously manicured bonsai trees; a pond he'd dug himself off the back "patio", swingsets hanging from trees, and about seventy cats. His name was Captain.

I lived out of a van in all 48 contiguous states for years. And yes, sometimes it was down by a river.

I'm interested in meeting any and all people who agree that loving one another is the easiest thing we can do. To love is to help.
Everything is wonderful. Everything is a gift.
Even the unpleasant things-- especially the unpleasant things.
Sometimes, I ain't got time for pleasantries.
