ABOUT ME

I recently graduated (finally) with a B.Sc. degree in mathematics. I work as an embedded software programmer (pretty grown-up job title) and I absolutely love my job and the people I work with.

I'm the type of person who is always on the move. Can't sit still and am constantly trying to expand my horizon by meeting new people. I come from a big family, I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers and my father frequently refers to me as #2 as I'm second oldest of my siblings ;)

My friends have often told me: "You make me feel like a very smart and hilarious person because you laugh at absolutely everything I say!"

What can I say...? I'm very easily entertained. Which I don't consider to be a "con" because I here to enjoy my life. Life is too short to waste it being annoyed by something that doesn't matter.

PHILOSOPHY

I have a couple of mottos I always keep in mind which is:

- Everything happens for a reason!

- There is a good side of every event, you just have to keep your eyes open and you'll find it :)

- And last but definitely not the least: "PAY IT FORWARD"

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Me and my ex hosted a couple of times before we went on a year long backpacking trip around the world (which explaines why some references made by hosts are in plural). We met so many wonderful people along the way which made the trip so much more memorable. Definitely something I want to continue doing!

First of all: Exploring the world and getting to know fun people and different cultures!

Since I'm a "mathematically" oriented person I enjoy everything that involves problem solving. Riddles, puzzles you name it, I enjoy it.

音乐、电影和书籍

I don't really watch much television sine I hardly find the time to sit still long enough to endure a whole movie. But when I do I prefer to watch episodes like Grey's Anatomy, The big bang theory, Seinfeld, Simpsons etc.

I absolutely looooooove music and couldn't live without it! The problem is though, I never know the damn names of the songs I listen to, nor names of the bands... But my taste in music leans a little towards bands with a similar feel to them like Evanescences and Florence + the machine. Love'm!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Living in a land of ice and fire I've seen/experienced some cool stuff like earth quakes, volcanoes, northern lights, days with no daylight and days with no night. And during my trip I added many events to my collection of great experiences.

But I have to say, the most amazing thing I've experienced is when a stranger lends a hand. During my trip I sometimes stumbled into situations where I just couldn't go on. I didn't know what to do nor had the energy to find out. And then all of a sudden, a stranger appeared. They clearly noticed that I was in trouble and decided to offer their help. Some lasted for minutes other for hours. Hence I find it amazing how some people are willing to give so much to total strangers just because of the kindness in their hearts.

I learned that it doesn't cost anything to be nice, and lending a hand, even though you don't know the person, can make such a difference. Definitely something I've tried to live up to from now...
