About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find a life - my own version of it.

ABOUT ME

In a nutshell: A spontaneous, accidental, dimwitted, slow and shy from-time-to-time couchsurfer from South Korea.I wish I could say, without any hesitation, that I am extroverted and open-minded, but I highly doubt that myself does correspond perfectly to such claim. I always do my best to be open-minded, outgoing and cheerful, but sometimes people find me acting shy and defensive. Still, I try hard.Besides such characteristics, I find lots of difficulties when it comes to describing myself to others. Simply because, I'm still trying to find who or what I am. I guess that's the primary reason why I'm roaming around here and there. If I may give you some random facts about myself in a cover-letter-ish way:I used to work for a few IT companies in South Korea as a management/planning staff. To be more precise, I've been participating in "building" websites for clients or for the companies themselves I worked for ("web services"). So I happen to know a bit more about gadgets, IT news and whatnot than average people - thanks to my previous jobs.

PHILOSOPHY

Confucious once said, "When there are three people walking, my teacher is bound to be among them." And I *do firmly* believe the idea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe CS is about meeting new people and sharing experience and knowledge--not just between hosts and surfers but with every single person you may encounter through it. And I suppose, with all the hope available to myself, there must be something I could contribute to it--even if it might be insubstantial.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Speechless.

Interests

I believe every town has its unique lifesytle that you may not find elsewhere. I love to discover and learn about it and its background. Everyday stuff - how people commute, what people buy at groceries stores, what kind of activities people do when in leisure, what's common interests of people, etc - does fascinate me rather than some tourist attractions you'd find on guidebooks. Also, I'm 'unusually' curious about social issues of where I'm visiting - from tensions between communities to injustice towards minorities. Such questions and answers to, I believe, are great food for thoughts and the best teacher and lessons for my ignorance.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are so many movies, books and music to talk about, share and enjoy together. So, I rather not list'em but look forward to having a chance to have a conversation about'em with you. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yet trying to figure out.

Teach, Learn, Share

I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea - spending my whole life there. So if you're curious about the Korean peninsula, I guess I can help you with that.

Also, I had travelled in Japan for six months, from the northernmost point to the southernmost point of Japan. So if you happen to be curious about things like how one could roam around here and there (relatively) cheaply, which booking sites one should use to get a room at a cheap rate in case not surfing and sorts, drop me a line. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, France, Jamaica, Japan, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
