About Me

I spent the last 9 years living in Berlin, Germany, where I finished high school and began studying business. Around the same time I developed a passion for traveling, often hitch-hiking from Berlin to spend a few days in a new place, visit a new city. Sometimes I would take a few months off, backpacking through much of Europe and Turkey, simply to experience new culture and customs, to escape the tedium of big city life.

Before long my other passion, my true calling as I see it now, began to manifest itself in new ways, leading me more towards what I felt was necessary for me to be happy in life. Shortly after moving to Berlin I became involved in the urban club culture, specifically Jungle music. Through my excitement for this form of expression, I've been able to find many like-minded people with whom I can associate myself. I wish to share this profound energy with others, and thus started deejaying.

In recent years I have been able use my passion for music to bring about great transformation on not only my own desire to live and even teach in a sense, but also on those who I've met along the path. Being able to combine this with traveling is, of course, an added bonus.

All in all I believe that anyone can find light and a reason to start everyday with a smile, despite all the obstacles one may encounter along their individual path - a path each person must choose for themselves by paying attention to their heart and souls, a path which itself is the very meaning of life.

PHILOSOPHY

"There's nowhere to go but everywhere."

Where some people are content to live an everyday life, I have a certain urge to move, to travel the world in search of some unknown adventure. I believe every person has experienced something like this at some point in their lives, a yearning for something more, some invisible force driving them to find happiness. I also believe everyone is capable of finding love and light, the only thing holding you back is yourself. Dreams aren't something to be experienced only in your sleep, with enough motivation you can live your dreams every day.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Lately I've been on the road a lot. Whether I'm surfing all around Eastern Europe and Turkey, sharing my stories, adventures and music with the people I meet, or being part of a beautiful self-sustainable community within a largely deserted part of Detroit, I'm always trying to connect with new people and cultures, experiencing new ways of living and peoples' varying persepectives on life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music and books have played an immensely important role in my life and in shaping who I've become in the last few years. Since I moved to Berlin, I fell in love with the sounds of the underground and soon got into deejaying Jungle / Drum & Bass / Dubstep. This music has helped me to liberate myself and find my place in this hectic world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking through the mountains with a weeks ration of food, climbing Mt. Washington among others, and walking Americas oldest still used trailway.

When in the mountains you have time to think about yourself and where you are going in life, not to mention getting a great workout.

Teach, Learn, Share

Travelling to new places without any worries about time or money, I've really been able to discover myself and find new direction and motivation. Backpacking through Europe and Turkey has allowed me a new perspective on life which I think can only be achieved through travel.

Fortunately there are no words great enough to describe the feelings and adventures one experiences when on the road - the only way to truly find out is to get out there and do it!
